Definitely more exciting a player than Shane Wright at this point. I'd like to see him at WJC u-18s or some such, would be easier to compare his performance to McDavid's.

Don’t you think it’ll only be draft eligibles? I doubt a D-3 would be included in a year like this, even if he might deserve it.

Didn’t know much about this player, so watched an interview he did a few days ago. He’s just a boy. I thought seeing the highlighted of his two games he might be one of those kids that physically matured early, but he’s still a chubby cheeked child. Holy crap is he ever going to be amazing when he physically matures. He mentioned in his interview that the older guys will be stronger and faster than him, so he’s going to need to out think them to compete. When his physical maturation catches up to his thinking the game he’s going to exceptional.

I'm very impressed with the start he is having to his WHL career, but he needs to play close to a full season before any legit debate can be had re: Bedard vs Wright.

And not sure how it is possible for Bedard to play u18s given the fact that the regular season WHL schedule will go to May 12 and the u18 tournament kicks of last week of April.

So, wherever the 2022 U18 tournament is being held, might be worth an extended trip hockey adventure. take in the u18s and then do a little travelling and venture on to the Sr. Men's tournament. I might give some thought into doing just that.

There are a bunch of guys on the Habs who can't nearly muster that kind of shot in stride. Nuts
At that distance the actual shot velocity doesn't matter, what matters is how difficult it is to read for the goalie and that's pretty challenging to figure out by watching video.

Thats also likely without any real strength training. While something like a shot release doesn't require any strength and 15 year old kids who've never seen a weight room can muster better releases than fully grown professional hockey players who've been in a weight room for 15 years, having some muscle and extra force into the raw speed and torque of a shot release will likely improve it even further.
