I don't think the problem is low hockey IQ, I think it's a mental health thing...

It's great how it ended up working out for the Jets, but he'd probably still be here if he hadn't asked to be traded.
Maybe so but it's sad to see such a talented young man waste his talent by not realizing hard work is what is required along with talent. Nobody can tell me he gives his best every night. If you give it all you have you win respect of everyone. The dressing room problems arise from that.

TSN caught the mood in the habs recent visit to anaheim.

Piling on Laine today I see... Dach was awful too - Canadiens need someone better than NewHook on that line

The guy is 4 games in a slump - pretty sure this board has shown more patience with a player or two on this roster...

His body language is the worst when he's not producing shots. The good news is we know its always someone else's fault. Next stage is his Laineiac loyalists will start bitching about his usage and line mates on Montreal's forum pages. They will refuse allocate even an ounce of blame for Laine's funk to Laine.

I remember some of our fans thought it might be good to have him back. That would have been a really bad idea.

I was and I think it is still too early to label it anyway. I do agreed that things mostly point towards "bot much to nothing has changed overall" and If that ends up being the bottom line, than yes, it would surely have been a mistake.

I mean just based on our play alone this season you already know not trading for him was the right decision. But who would have thought we go Edmonton level powerplay %s? Lol nobody would have dreamed of that. The entire point of getting Laine back obviously was about upgrading our PP. If I'd known we'd have a 30%+ PP without him anyway, No way I would have even brought up the idea.

Hindsight and stuff...

I mean technically the advanced stats have been saying Ehlers on PP1 would change things... but no one thought to this level

Laine would just be another static trigger man imo - and we have our shooters in Scheif and Connor

Screw him if he doesn't want to play in Winnipeg, I hope he crashes and burns.

The Jets powerplay is on an incredible heater. It's much improved over last season, but still...it's gonna hit a dry spell at some point.
