As players are continuously looking for playing options was thinking that Bedard could play back home in the BCHL . Either until the WHL starts again or for the full year

There is some article about him floating around on the athletic but I'm not a subscriber.

A bunch of WHLers have been loaned to BCHL teams now for their "extended training camp". It's definitely a possibility.

The way things are going, they might cancel the WHL season too. Might as well get 2 months of hockey before they shut everything down.

Would he be allowed to play in the BCHL? I think there might be a rule that 15 year olds can't play Junior A in Canada except unless they are an AP for 10 or so games or their midget season is over. Jack Hughes could have easily played in the Ontario Junior A league if allowed, but didn't join until his midget team was done for the year. I could be wrong or they may make an exception since he was already granted exceptional status to the WHL though.

Masks aren't even mandatory everywhere in BC, things should stay open there at least a bit longer than most other provinces you'd imagine.

Right now the BCHL is in it's "extended training camp" which has pretty relaxed rules about age. There's a 15 year old kid named Cameron Johnson that's playing now that would not have been available in the regular season.

You'd think, but cases are continuously rising with no real restrictions. Just passed the 700 mark today.

Yeah there's been an ongoing debate about making masks mandatory across the province due to the growing number of cases. No one can really predict what will happen, just have to be positive !

2 days in a row and we will see some sort of increased restrictions coming on Thursday.

I really think that with what is going on in Western Canada that the WHL starting in early January is a pipedream at this moment.

How many people are living in this territory? And this number, is that number of positive tested people, or dead people?

Ya there is no chance as of now a season happening unfortunately. BC will be announcing today that there be no non essential travelling at all. I do know for a fact teams have been told to expect the possibility of no hockey this season. And obviously Alberta and Manitoba are extremely out of control too

When BC shut down last time in March, there were less than 100 cases a day... now there are 700+ a day with number climbing and expected to get way worse as Christmas comes. If people think teams are going to be able to travel around and play games, they are out of their mind.

It's extremely annoying cause I do a side gig in hockey so not being in an arena will be very weird, but I totally get it

5 million people live in the province , a couple days ago there were 11 deaths and 717 cases . Number has been climbing everyday .

Johnson is an 04...sixteen year old. He is allowed to play full time in the BCHL. (Albeit late birthday for draft purposes)

Bedard could play 5 games unless rules were changed for him in light of exceptional status.

Johnson is a late ‘04 birthday so he’s eligible for a full season in the BCHL. ‘05 birth years are the cut off this year.

edit: didn’t see the post above, carry on
