When is the Swedish season getting under way vs when is the WHL starting. How long could he potentially play in season games in Sweden for?

They say, he lives in Suzdalev's home, who's a good Michkov's friend.

I wonder how Bedard and Suzdalev know each other, probably the WSI tournament? Also I find it curious that Bedard is missing school and leaving staying in Sweden for an undetermined amount of time.

I know he's not playing any games but if the WHL was cancelled all season and he was playing games in Sweden would he have any chance at getting in any games with the SHL team?

Probably not this season. Maybe next season. That would be in line with how it was for Dahlin, the most recent star to come from Sweden.

Doubt he could play in SHL or Allsvenskan, but the Swedish u20 league should be reasonable close to WHL in skill level and would probably be a solid replacement.

Probably the best Vancouver-born product of the last... 20 years?

Van isn’t like the rest of Canada. There aren’t kids playing hockey on the streets and very few public areas for the game. We have tremendous rinks/facilities and uuber competitive leagues for youth hockey. Unfortunately, only rich kids tend to climb out of our development system.

Bedard is the real deal though. His shot alone is unbelievable. He can skate, hit, make plays. Can’t wait to follow this kid’s hockey journey.

He should sign with any Sweden U20 club and play there and not wait for the WHL season start, which quite possible won't even happen. Yeah, being the first with the exceptional status is cool, but his development is way more important.

I agree but wonder if he is allowed to do that.

I know that he is practicing in Sweden right now, why not play in games then.

The WHL will have a season and he's already signed his WHL educational agreement which means he can't play in Sweden without the Pats go ahead and why would they let him risk injury

Well that makes sense as to why he isn't playing only practicing but I really wonder how a WHL season is going to go, especially with the US division and a team based in Langley and Edmonton.
