If Yager and Heidt had played this season in the same league as Bedard, how would they do?

Their production would have been greatly increased, without the slightest doubt.

Would they have scored on a similar level? Bedard is a master of generating offensive chances. If they played together, it’s not impossible. They’re very good.

I also believe that they would not produce at a similar level. But in your opinion what would their production be like, more or less in points?

It's spooky how effortlessly he dominates competition 2-3 years older than him. He picks up so much speed with his crossovers.

The skating, hands, and shot are on a ridiculous level. He could be dumb as a door nail and still be a sure bet to score 30 at the NHL level. Unfortunately for all but one team, he’s got vision and drive to back it up.

Bedard drafted by the Regina Pats of the WHL.

He is from North Vancouver.

Boy would I ever be PISSED if I was from North Van and had to spend my 15-16-17 years in gross Regina, Saskatchewan. This is one of the few instances I may try to force a trade if I was a superstar junior hockey player.

Bedard didn't have to apply for exceptional status, if he didn't want to go to any teams he had options. Then again, his 15-17 year old years will probably be a bit different than yours were seeing as how he is already a national hockey sensation and trying to play at the highest jr level in Canada as an under-aged player. Doesn't seem like the worst situation for a kid likely eyeing an NHL future.

Since he applied for Exceptional status, he has to play for Regina, one of the rules of applying for ES is you have to report to whatever team drafts you.
Regina is one of the WHL’s best run teams anyway so i’m sure he’s okay with it.

I guess it's a good thing that he is Connor Bedard and you aren't?

Regina is actually a metropolis compared to some other WHL locations.

Where would you rather he play?

I feel so bad for the goalies who faced him.. they are not on a level to handle his release and deception to his shot.
Yep. As I’ve said elsewhere in this thread, his shot is already legitimately NHL-calibre.

It’s the potential that his skating and shooting continues to rapidly progress over the next three years that have people salivating for the 2023 draft. If they do...just imagine an 18 year old stepping into the league with Matthews’ shot and Barzal’s skating.

Yeah, and then he'll compete vs the next Sergei Makarov in the draft...

HV will probably try to keep him as long as they can. There is no way they allow him to stay the full season given that he was granted exceptional status, right?
