I think Bedard is a unique player, much like (in more recent times) Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid, Makar, Datsyuk, etc. Someone with a unique style that can't really be compared to other players.

Whether he ends up in that stratosphere as far as player quality is TBD.

If that projection holds true, he would total 134 goals & 136 assists for 270 points in 134 WHL games.

McDavid missed by 1 point as well, but what company to keep.

Any idea who else would show up on this list in recent memory , if any at all? The tweet says "notable" but I'm not sure I can recall any others who were b2b 100 pts at 16 and 17. Stammer was close as well he had 95 at 16, but regardless the list is very short (at least in the last 25 years) and basically loaded with future superstars.

Bedard has to play for a Regina team run by an incompetent Paddock and he will likely be drafted by a team that will be trash for 5-6 years. His best hope is for the Habs to win the lottery.

That is what great players do. Guys like Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby and McDavid would make some of the greatest defensemen of all time look like they didn't know the first thing about defending.
