is he not being compared to Crosby, McDavid already?

Because the argument is that "the gap" is bigger than Madona's teeth gap, drafting any one else at 1st OA will get you fired.

I think he's more of a Kane

I mean good lord look what Leo is doing at 1:33, a guy his size doing that kind of stuff... holy smocks man i just don't understand people sometimes.

What a letdown. That was just a pretty nice goal.

I'm assuming he means WHL and is talking about Jayden Halbegewachs who was 19 at the time. Which is ridiculous. You can't compare a 17 year old's production to a guy who's almost 20 and far more physically developed. When that guy was the same age as Bedard he had 8 points in 59 games lol. Even if you could Bedard still blows him out of the water. Bedard has produced at about the rate Halbegewachs did since he was 15.

There's a reason we take age into consideration rather than drafting whichever overager is leading a CHL league in scoring.
And actually, Halbegewachs was an overager who turned 21 in March of that season. Three years and four months older than Bedard is.

Awesome,

now the argument was: Upcoming Generational Talents, not notable players.

As for your list.
Crosby is the only Generational talent of that list, the rest are elite, superstars... none fit the bill of a Gen talent.

McDavid is 6.1, Ovy and Malkin are 6.3
Malkin isn't generational and McDavids game has nothing to do with his height. If McDavid were 5'10" it wouldn't change him in the slightest, his game is pure speed.

Which means absolutly jack squat... i dont see how being older would have any impact on his ability to score 70 goals. If age was a factor why arent they all scoring 100 goals a year.

Unless you're implying he steamrolled his way to the net, a goal is a goal.

Yeah Bedard is doing it earlier but he's also 185 lb already at 5.11' so he's physically there with the rest of the group in terms of strengh, I just fail to see the advantage an older guy would have over a guy like Bedard if they're mass is around the same.

2 Blunders here: Malkin isn't Gen..... WRONG. Malkin is a certified generational talent.

If McDavid was 5'10"... i mean come on man, what nonsense is this im not going to bother.

Repeating your assertions doesn't make them any more valid then they were the first time. If you think Malkin is a generational player, put together an argument to justify it. If you think being 6'1" is an important factor in McDavid's success put together an argument to justify it.

I'm sure everyone else would pick Bedard, thats not the question. Say you had a ferrari at home but no suv. You want to buy a second car but say you have a budget cap and have to take care of a family, wouldnt an suv be a more resonable option as a second car rather than another ferrari?
Seeing as we are not actually buying here but rather being given... You take the Ferrari. Say in your hypothetical world 2 Ferrari is pointless then you still take it, then sell it and buy multiple SUV's

Also very few teams have a Ferrari player... MTL is not one of them

This has to be a joke right?

There are overagers that light up Major junior and amount to nothing in pro hockey year after year

God knows i din't wanted to but my hand is being forced. Please forgive me.

I must've missed the certification ceremony. Which governing body is it that certifies generational?

Malkin is great, he's really good. It's never been the Malkin era. It was the Sid/Ovi era, its the McDavid era now. I've lived through the Gretzky and Lemieux eras, Malkin was just a bit below bring era defining. He wasn't generational.

I really can't wait to see him in the NHL, the production is undeniable and especially at the WJC. It's so hard to project anybody to that level and personally I'm not sure if he has the ceiling, but don't think there's ever been a prospect like this that has failed to live up to the hype.

You realize that Daigle didn't fail because he wasn't talented, right? Guy didn't enjoy hockey, eventually quit the sport for two years, and still ended up leading his NHL team in scoring after he decided to play again.

Did you serious just say why would age matter? Serious question... are you new to hockey?

Do you not understand how 99% of players progress more with age, especially in junior? Can you explain to me why the guy you're talking about only had 8pts the same age as Bedard, yet 70G at 20 years old?
