Whichever fanbase gets Bedard is going to go crazy come draft lottery. The kid is showing up and showing out nightly. Bottom 10 teams getting ready for more tanking…

Hope he gets traded to Kamloops so he can get a shot at a Memorial Cup.

Regina already said they won't be moving him and hope to add to give him more help to go on a run. Which is really just code for "this kid is gonna sellout arenas and merch and make us a shit tonne of money so we're gonna keep him because we like that money".

He would have to initiate the request himself. It's not a 0% chance, but it's close. Ownership here in Regina is also incredibly greedy and it would take a lot to give up their cash cow.

Is it pretty much gauranteed that no matter who lands the first overall this year, that Bedard goes first? No other runner ups to him?

Fantilli is already playing amazing and there still seems to be a sizeable gap to Bedard.

I’m not sure if there’s anything he can do for the next few months to change that, let alone continue his pace.

Yeah I live in MJ so I've just heard rumblings around the rink from people in the know that he is currently not available and Regina has no desire to move him at all regardless of the return.

His mom also rented a place in Regina for the season to live with him at the suggestion of his agent to give him more support with the expected insanity/pressure of his draft year so it seems like the Bedard’s are pretty committed to staying in Regina.

Danny Roussin theory.
Tanner Howe is a lot more talented, but probably not any better of a CHL player than 19 year old Roussin. Dany Roussin as a 19 year old was a very good CHL player in his own right, and still lit it up when Crosby was out of the lineup, potting 11g and 20p in 17gp without Sid during their 2 seasons together in Rimouski.

He also put up 38p in 38gp in Rimouski as an 17 year old before 87 was even on the team.

I don't see him challenging McDavid unless he lands somewhere like Columbus.

Gaudreau - Johnson - Bedard would be pretty outrageous to watch, but even then he still might not win the Ross (though he'd probably score 60 goals lol)

If he's in Columbus I could see 50-60 goals and 100 pts immediately. Those are about the best playmakers you could possibly be paired with.

But I can't imagine McDavid territory, 130+ pts. Not with any club. Maybe years later if Bedard finds another step.
