Not playing his first pre-season game until Tuesday? Is this correct?

Man, this prospect forum is so much better and easier to navigate when you just ignore every prospect thread for a Russian "prospect"
LOL. Yes, I "ignore" MOST non Canadian players. :)

Chest beating post of sorts so apologies in advance.

But goddamn I can't help but feel proud and spoiled as a Canadian hockey fan sometimes. While the world as a whole is catching up to us and our hockey dominance, and talent is coming from everywhere now (and that's a beautiful thing for the game). And superstars from all countries are making their mark.

But we keep getting blessed by the hockey gods with generational talents that are able to stand above the rest. I'm 36yrs old and the best hockey player on the planet has basically always been a generational Canadian icon.

And I think it's great that the next "one" is from western Canada this time - they were way overdue for it. We've got generational representation from every corner of the country now.

And despite how far apart we are in distance from each other geographically, our politics are at odds with each other at times, or even our first language isnt all the same one... But its our love shared love of hockey and the pride we all feel get from seeing the maple leaf 🍁 win on the world stage that binds us together as a nation more than anything.

Nah, I just ignore the Russian ones. They are the most spammed on this thread, and, as it so happens, the most irrelevant.

but on to better news. good opening pre-season game from Connor. He's ready to get the season going. The team needs some work though.

2 goals... Good for him. I hope/pray he lives up to the hype.

so many people already expect this kid to be on the same tier as like McDavid. cant wait to see this kid play in the NHL to see if he's the real deal or not but kinda feels like we're due for another Alexandre Daigle

that's just made up nonsense. He's not on McDavid's level, he's close to it, pretty damn close, but he's not another McDavid.

And if you are looking for real prospect info, you've come to the wrong forum, HF is not the place to find it.

Im not and I highly doubt Bedard will become another Daigle. we're just due to get one of those next level looking elite superstars prospects bust.
Ive seen a few people in here include his name with McDavid. and yeah I know HF is pretty toxic overall but there are alot of good people here with good opinions/know what they are talking about so getting prospect info here can be helpful at times

HF as a community has its faults but I'm not sure there's a better resource for prospect related info.

Bedard reminds me a lot of Marcel Dionne.

Daigle was a unique situation where hockey media wanted another circus like they had with Lindros and anointed Daigle the next huge prospect even if he really wasn't quite that level, plus the sport hadn't gotten to the point where the huge off-ice red flags that existed with Daigle were noticed. Bedard isn't a prospect at McDavid's level but he also isn't a talented player who doesn't really care for hockey like Daigle. It's difficult to imagine him flaming out at the NHL level like a Daigle or somehow a Yakupov just based on the shot he has right now and that he seems to have the required work ethic.

The problem with Alexander Daigle wasn't a lack of talent. It was the lack of drive to be a great hockey player and his desire to do something entirely else than to play hockey.

oh ok fair enough I was pretty young when he played and didnt know much about him other than he was a highly touted elite looking prospect that flopped big time.

We basically had that in yakupov. Although his issues weren’t effort like Daigle.

With how much scouting has improved/had dumped money into it compared to then, I don’t think we will ever have another Daigle. The interviews would have likely dropped him out of the top 3 ala Wright

I feel like he could have played in the show at 17 and put up 30-40 points. He's insanely talented and built like a brick shithouse

Only question I have with this kid is how much bigger is he going to get?

He sure is a great talent.
I’d say he’ll for sure probably grow an inche.

So around 5’10 190lbs i think it’s pretty good.

Which makes me wonder if he won't end up a winger with his size and the type of goal scoring game he has, and I don't see what's so bad about that, a top of the line winger is a great player to have.
