This game must have been unwatchable on TV, how can they have two teams dress so similar?
Yeah somebody didn't get the memo.

He’s definitely trying to incorporate the one timer/slapshots into his game more. It seems to have gotten a lot better since the start of the year. Now that he is a threat with the one timer he can draw more guys to him on the pp with the fake and make dishes like this on Friday:I know it’s not what he scored on there but I was impressed by that one timer off the post shortly before his goal. He scores mostly on slick wrist shots from what I’ve seen so I was beginning to wonder if he either didn’t have a one timer or refused to take them, is he perhaps starting to incorporate them into his game more now?
He still needs to grow into his frame and physically mature but as a Canucks fan I know strength isn’t everything when it comes to hard shots. Elias Pettersson’s one timer is as powerful as any in the league despite him being a lanky stick man hahaha,
2 assists after 2.
The SLOW start came back to haunt him. He's a single point out of 5th in WHL scoring. I don't think he really has enough games to catch the leaders being 14 points back, and Stankoven has been on fire as well. My bet would be on Stankoven winning the scoring title.
In his -1 year.... has any prospect in recent years done this in the CHL?If Bedard keeps his pace the past 23 games, and everyone else holds their season pace, he will be right there with a chance to win the scoring race…

I think the only one I can think of that has done it is Crosby in his -1 yearNot sure, but McDavid, Tavares, Lafreniere all finished on the 2-4 range in their strong pre draft seasons.
Yeah, I tried to find the another example but I think Sid may be the only D-1 player in history to lead the CHL in scoring. Even Mario's monster 184 point season was beat out by an insane draft season from LaFontaine.I think the only one I can think of that has done it is Crosby in his -1 year
Lafreniere was close and won MVP but he was also 17 not 16In his -1 year.... has any prospect in recent years done this in the CHL?
This isn't a competition, CS. We just want Bedard to be great. The best 16 years old in the last 40 years is Crosby.
135 points in..62 games and was named the best junior player in Canada....at 16

I know he's a different player (in more ways than one) but, after Laf and Byfield, I am tempering my expectations...and he is great. A phenom and a joy to watch.

My hope is the 2023 Draft is so deep in CHL talent, even if 50%(?) of the top players hit, it will restock the Canadian cupboards with some young snipers.
I agree. Laf plays with (below) average players and he gets next to NO PP time so... let's give him time.Dont
Don't worry about Laf...at every age he had better stats than Huberdeau....and look at Huberdeau now
Laf turned 20 4 months ago...
Couturier did it but he was a late bday (q scoring title)In his -1 year.... has any prospect in recent years done this in the CHL?
