Where did you hear that?, cause it's hilarous. I remember a few years back around the draft somebody posted all the kids at the combines favorite nhl'ers and one of them named Janick Hansen. Except that kid was a Hansen like player in the dub. Drafted by one of the Cali teams, wish i could remember his name now.

I just came in to say it was going ahead...and it gets postponed. Next two games for the Pats.

Omicron is ripping through the WHL now. Several teams have been shut down.

Will Canada consider sending him to the Olympics? I know age/size could be issue playing against older players but his ability is crazy. It would be great experience for him and in terms of Hockey Canada it would be great to see a future star in a big stage. Same goes for Owen Power

I don't believe he's on the list. Out of young guys it's guys like Perfetti and Power.

Dreger mentioned it's Power, McTavish, and possibly Johnson. Perfetti is ineligible due to playing in the AHL.

True, I saw him on a leaked list of people being considered. Didn't know that AHL guys couldn't go (and in this case, does this also apply to people only contracted to the AHL team and not the NHL affiliate).

He would get completely destroyed there OMG.

16 year old against pro's is an idiotic idea, 16 year old against pro's in the Olympics?
= bloody murder - even in speculation its bonkers

His physique simply isn't ready yet to play pro games, not to mention mens international game LOL
- Jack Hughes wasn't ready at 18 in the mens WC, how you'd think 16 year old Bedard do?....

I mean, Bedard looked like the best player at the WJC playing on a team with guys who have already played in the NHL and could handle it physically.

A huge leap from WJC to Olympic level event.

The speed, skill, physique, defending, goaltending
all of the above are several tiers higher what in the juniors.

Goaltenders and defensemen can easily read every move of a 16 year old,
not to mention, every pro coach can easily coach out a 16 year old kid.

So yeah, no, he will not be fine.

Perfetti I thought he was under NHL contract with Jets and played in NHL this year. I wasn’t sure anyone under NHL contract was allowed to go? Power I know is going which makes a lot of sense since NCAA players aren’t under NHL contracts.

Meh. Michkov played against adults in the KHL for a dozen games earlier this year and didn’t get annihilated. These kids have elite hockey IQ and have been playing against stronger players their entire lives; they know how to keep themselves out of trouble

The Habs need and deserve a Superstar. It has been far too long since we had a forward that could be considered in the top 10 players in the league. We have had some good, even great forwards, but no on elite in far too long. I am praying for a two year tank.

Even if Canada had him as their 13 forward you really think sending some random 27 year old player would be better. Upside along with branding of future of Canada sells itself. WC was different for Hughes considering he was facing NHL talent which Bedard won’t be facing much of

My apologies on the delayed response. Per Dreger in the clip below (last 30 seconds of the clip), anyone playing pro hockey right now in North America is ineligible. Only the kids in college hockey and those sent down to Junior are eligible

I don't think Hockey Canada will go for it, but not a bad idea. I'd be a little more confident if the tourney was on big ice, but ironically it will be on NHL sized rink. Start him of on the PP and see how he does...maybe he can work his way up the lineup.

16 year old Bedard is better than 18 year olds Hughes by my viewings. Bedard is a different class of player.
