For Bedard personally, probably the worst place for him to land. Other most likely options were also bad teams, but at least they had some quality talent, some pieces to build around. The cupboards are dry in Chicago, coming into this draft they had IMO the least overall talent/value of all their players and prospects combined. It’s a big hole to dig out of.

Top 5-10 prospect pool before this draft. Lots of future draft capital and cap flexibility for years. It’s a fine situation. He wasn’t going to win the cup in year 1 anywhere.

If I were Chicago I’d 100% without a question be trading that pick. They have absolutely zero people to build around and they could get an absolutely disgusting haul for him.

Now they will be forced to compete and throw Bedard in the trenches. It’s the worst situation for him and as a owner of him in fantasy I’m extremely disappointed but I’m just glad he didn’t go to Arizona. I actually appreciate Blackhawks being an original 6 team but they just aren’t equipped to properly develop him.

Obviously they won’t trade him so I’d throw a huge contract at Kane or Taresanko so he at least has someone to play with. Maybe 3 years at 12 per? Not like they need the cap space and they will really need to incentivize a star to play there at this point.

If I were a Hawks fan I wouldn't feel one ounce of remorse or guilt about what happened to Kyle Beach 13 years ago. The fans whining about it are a bunch of jokers.

I'm pissed that the Hawks won because they blatantly tanked/sold off their roster.

But thats why we have a lottery.

I don’t think anyone is lashing out at the fans. It’s clearly directed at the organization. Good for the fans that they get a franchise talent, that team is going to suck for a long time after all.

I’ll gladly be one of the jokers who thinks it’s a joke that things lined up like this. That organization deserves nothing but misery for a long time.

Obviously it’s incredibly likely that this will happen, but this thread title is premature. Why can’t we just keep it as not labeled until he’s picked?
