IIRC, the Rimouski Crosby home games were on local TV and I remember the highlights would make it to RDS or TSN.All these instant twitters or Facebook update goals just remind me how mysterious Crosby was in the QMJHL, even with all the hype and the lockout. It would have been unreal.
Regina needs to lose so Bedard can go play on Team Canada for the Worlds. But 11 points in 3 games and putting up a fight, really shoudn't be this close.
The u18s? Could go on at least on more round and play on the mens team. All these instant twitters or Facebook update goals just remind me how mysterious Crosby was in the QMJHL, even with all the hype and the lockout. It would have been unreal.

I believe he meant the men's WHC in May and not the U18s. at least that is how I read it. I'd like to see him play another round of WHL action. He's just incredible to watch. And this is the best hockey I've seen in a few years, other than some epic Team Canada World Junior action. 2 rounds would give him a little time off to recover, but not too much time off.
At this point I'll be disappointed if he is not with Team Canada in May.
Bedard should have had 2 goals, and Regina should be up 3-0. Bedard's first goal was called back, as the Saskatoon goalie nudged the net off it's bearings.
I'm starting to think Bedard may be the best draft pick since Mario Lemieux. Crosby was not as impressive. McDavid, as good has he was, at least had a better supporting cast. (DeBrincat, Strone, etc.). Bedard is playing with scrubs, and he is still putting up insane numbers.
I'm gonna have to say this preemptively before people get freaked out. Saskatoon and Regina are going to play each other in the first round. Bedard will be driven off the puck on every play by one of the best defensive teams in the country and will likely not pile up a ton of points in the playoffs. No that won't hurt his draft stock, no it won't be a question mark on his game, no it won't be a bad sign for the next level. Any prospect except McDavid would struggle against the playoff series that Bedard is about to play.
So far, not a problem! I don’t think it was a crazy take, Saskatoon are indeed an excellent defensive team, but Bedard is stepping his game up and scoring like crazy (3 games in, 6 goals, 5 assists). He definitely seems like a guy who can elevate his game when it counts. He did have 2 of his worst games of the season vs Saskatoon (2 of his 5 pointless games all year), but in his other 3 games vs. the Blades he put up 9 points (5 goals, 4 assists).
Saskatoon are one of the best defensive teams in the dub (I’d say Seattle #1, Saskatoon or Winnipeg #2?), but I’m not convinced they’ll be able to shut down Bedard in the playoffs. We’ve seen him consistently take his game to another level at the WJCs, and I suspect he’ll do the same in the WHL playoffs. Tough matchup for him, he’s gonna have to work VERY hard to score, but I suspect he still gets it done.
I would say there are some attributes where they are at the same level but I would give the edge to bedard in physical play, shot, and strength; vision, hands and IQ about even, speed to McDavid. Speed in the most important attribute in today’s game thoughBedard is better at everything other than skating, when compared to McDavid in their respective draft years. Bedard is getting underrated by some in here. Definitely above the Matthews tier prospect.
Ya, speed is definitely a big one. Probably the biggest if you have the tools to go with it. I would put Bedard’s vision and pure passing ahead of McDavids. I would also give the edge to Bedard in the hockey IQ department.I would say there are some attributes where they are at the same level but I would give the edge to bedard in physical play, shot, and strength; vision, hands and IQ about even, speed to McDavid. Bedard's vision/playmaking has always been grossly underrated due to being a shoot first scorer. His shot vs pass decision making (overshooting) has been questionable at times in the WHL but we've seen what his playmaking can look like at the WJC's when he has more faith in his teammates - which should be the case in the NHL.Ya, speed is definitely a big one. Honestly, coming out of junior I would pick Bedard over McDavid as a prospect if I was drafting. We’ll see if Bedards skill set transfers as well to the NHL game though.
24’ as in for President. But never mind Australia. It’s over your head.Is he sitting out a year?
