C Clayton Keller - Boston University, NCAA (2016, 7th, ARI)

I'd use Marner's season this season as a benchmark for Keller. If he can replicate that, he has to be in consideration.
I think he's a significant step below Marner at the same age, though obviously time will tell on that one.

I also don't think that Marner would make Team USA in his rookie season (if he were American and the Olympics were this year). With that being said, JvR likely would make the team, and I do think Marner is already better than JvR, but for the Olympics there's a strong preference for experienced players, it's very hard to make one of the top Olympic teams as an NHL rookie. Also, the competition at RW is very strong, with Kane/Kessel/Wheeler the likely top 3, and you wouldn't pick someone like Marner for the 4th line. At LW the competition is slightly weaker, but even still, I really don't see rookie Keller making it.

How did he look? I watched a bit of the first but curious how the rest went.

From what I watched his speed and skill was evident but being a young small guy I thought he was a little pensive and was out muscled which could be chalked up to nerves and being small. He is stepping into a dumpster fire so it might be hard to judge his production as nobody is producing on AZ but he showed what you expected him to show. Smarts, skills, and speed.

Wasn't that noticeable but it also looked like he was trying to make the safe play whenever he had the puck. He also got severely outmuscled along the boards. Once he gains some confidence and puts on some weight, he'll be a force out there.

I went to a Boston University game about 3 weeks ago, and the one thing I noticed was his hands. The Guy has elite hands, unbelievable seeing him dance all over the ice. He is also very creative and a strong playmaker with a big upside. I believe that he is going to be something real good in this league when he's fully grown and developed. To top it off, he's great on the power play and I think he should've went higher in the draft.

In the west? A winger.

Right now, but I could see him sliding into the middle. His style of play is more suited for that position; he just needs a little more size and experience, and he'll be fine.

He will have to be excellent on faceoffs to play center for Tippett. With Strome, Dvorak, Richardson, and probably Burmistrov, it's unlikely he sees center soon.

I would've taken him 3rd. Tremendous player.

I've watched the highlights from team USA and he has been very impressive in the small amount of footage I have seen ! The Coyotes are going to have a sure stud in him !

My early af prediction of the 2016 draft top 10 players in five years: 1. AM/Laine 2. Laine/AM 3. Keller 4. Tkachuk 5. McAvoy 6. Pulju 7. Borgström 8. Steel 9. Dubois 10. Juolevi

Hypothetically. He makes the Yotes next season.

What do you think his point total is next season? I'd imagine it to be kind of low, because he's not playing with elite guys. But I see him between 50-55pts

(He's also my favorite prospect)

I would be shocked if spent the whole season in the NHL... If so I dont think he will get alot of ice time.

Thinking 30 points if he sticks... Would be very happy if he gets 50

Although Arizona will be getting another wave of graduating prospects, I can't see how he can't stick, he seems like he would mesh well with some of their other top young players.
