Really? Sorry my bad, i better recheck some stuff.

If we want to stretch it back a few more years (probably not relevant since the game has changed so much) Radulov, Crosby and Brett McLean are the only guys other than the aforementioned ones that have a longer ones than Leason, outside of a few guys from the lates 90’s/early 00’s... either way very impressive for him.

8 games in less than 15 days for Brett before the WJC, then there is a 2 week break after those 8 games,
not much of a break thou, WJC camp + pre tournament games.

Brett & the Raiders are on 3 games in less than 72 hours mini tour; 5-2 win over the Wheat Kings, another 5-2 win over the Wheat Kings (at home this time) and in the next game they play against Saskatoon Blades at Saskatoon.

I love these late bloomers.. Id imagine before the season started he was preparing for his 19 year old season and assuming he wont have a hockey career and slowly seeing the dream die. Probably looking into Canadian Universities to attend potentially after this season....

Tearing up the league, most likely will make WJC team and should be a top 2 round draft pick.

Unreal

it's a great story. no doubt. If I were the Team Canada equipment manager I'd have a #20 jersey ready for him tomorrow. anything to keep the magic season going. I'm dying to see him against top flight elite level competition. if he fills the net against the Americans, Swedes and Finns, then he can probably bump up into late 1st. rd. pick.

Watching that...I’m really wondering how he didn’t get drafted. He obviously must have worked very hard to improve his shooting, strength, etc. this summer but you can’t just spontaneously develop that level of vision, hands, speed, and size in a couple months.

He did score plenty of goals and points as a bantam and as midget,
maybe he played as a 4th liner before for TC?, ...now for moments like these,
makes you wish they'd had toi stats. (and others like such)

Couple days ago i read and article from the day he was acquired by the Raiders, Raiders head coach praised him a lot
he praised his skating, his hockey IQ, his strength, his shot and passing abilities. - and his work ethic

And he cost them only 3rd round bantam pick, for this years draft.

To me, he looks very Mark Jankowski-esque in that video, with improved vision for seam passes.

He doesn't seem to beat too many guys with speed (both his feet and hands) but he moves at a good pace and can keep the puck on his stick through traffic. His hands don't seem quick but they do seem very smooth, and his shot is very heavy.

I love to get hyped for darkhorse type guys but I don't know if I see any truly elite skills demonstrated in that highlight package to think there's a future elite first liner in there. If he pans out, I could see him ending up somewhere between today's Tyler Toffoli and the Tyler Toffoli of a couple years ago, and he's still someone who I'd be running to the table to pick in the late first.

Maybe playing with some other super talents at the Juniors will change my mind, it will be interesting to see.

30 game highlight video that i made today, enjoy.

If anyone wants...you can always share this video....nah....just kidding .

Couldn't care less of that, it was fun to make this video and see all of his highlights
those once too that didn't end up on the box score, there were actually quite few of those,
got unlucky several times, could have at least 5 more goals and another 5 more assists.

He uses his speed when ever its necessary, not everyone needs to play like McDavid :) -> full speed ahead on every shift,
you can play with slower pace every now and then Connor :)

I don't know, to me, he beats a lot of opponents with his speed. I mean, when he needs to beat someone with his speed, he usually does it without problem.

Will be very interesting to see how he develops on the next stage, still a big climb IMO.

Maybe getting passed over in the draft really pushed him to be better and put in some serious work in the offseason.

He’s flat out dominating his peers right now.

I echo these comments, he absolutely beats players with speed and when he gets the inside track, his body frame then makes him almost unstoppable. It's a one-trick pony no doubt, but so far an unstoppable one-trick pony.

He's built like an effin' tank, so him dominating 16, 17, and 18-year-old kids isn't that big of a deal when you consider the implication that nobody can handle him in the CHL. However, you simply cannot let his point total go unnoticed either because he's making the right play; get the puck and go to the net at all costs. Because of that, he plays a very north to south game which limits his creativity and vision, but on the smaller ice surface in the NHL, scouts love seeing that bulldog mentality.

The real question scouts need to ask themselves is if he can carry this same sort of game when he's playing against the likes of Weber, Pietrangelo, Erik Johnson, Buf, and others on a nightly basis. Defenders who can match his physical maturity and not majority of the players he's currently playing against. Good prospect, slightly overrated in this thread considering majority of it is stat-watching, but absolutely worth a pick next June. How high he will go depends entirely on how much faith a team thinks his game can translate into the pros. Is he a dime-a-dozen 3rd liner or does he have some Blake Wheeler talent in there?

Lol, one-trick pony is Nichushkin, who doesn't have anything, but skating and speed (along with his frame). Leason has a very good shot and can pass as well.
