Can't he sign with an NHL team at the end of the year? Or no?

Just wondering why someone like Ondrej Vala was able to. Is it a certain amount of time after the draft that you are able to sign as a UDFA?

I would.

The only thing working against him is that he hasn't played for team Canada at any age before. Because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a reduced role.
I guess the question there is he the right fit for a reduced role on that team? Seems like he is the type of player that needs to be in a featured role to get the best of what he brings out of him, maybe I am out in left field here.

It’ll be interesting to see where he goes in this coming draft. Teams seem hesitant to pick players early when they’ve been passed over even if the talent is clearly there.

Sebastian Aho (New York) was taken in he 5th round after having a very good season in Swedish league as a 20 year old.

Adam Mascherin was taken in the 4th round after being a 2nd round pick and having two good seasons in the OHL. Including a 100 point season where the next highest scorer had 60.

Colton Paranko (3rd), Jason Demers (7th), Andrew Shaw (5th), Mike Hoffman (5th), Ondrej Palat (7th).

All overagers who had very good seasons and still taken later. Whoever ends up with Leason will be very happy though.

You are thinking of Swedish/NYI Sebastian Aho, not the one on Carolina. The one on Carolina was never passed over.

I can’t remember the last time ive seen such drastic improvement from a prospect in a years time than I’ve seen with Leason. It’s night and day from the player he was last year.

This guy screams Leaf pick. 9 Over-Ager picks in the last 3 drafts, 3 in Dubas' first one last year including a 2nd round pick.

I'm sure we're all over this guy watching Scott kill the league too.

Next 2 games:
November 28th vs Rebels @ Red Deer
November 29th vs Oil Kings @ Edmonton

---

Raiders have quite the hectic December
6 games in less than 8 days, thou... they have 2 week holiday break after that...
Dec 1 to Dec 15: 8 games then almost 2 week break and 4 games in less than 5 days, Dec 27 to January 1.

Thou, if everything goes as planned, he won't be playing those games from Dec 27 on.
But that 6 games in less than 8 days and 8 games in first 15 days of the month, gonna be a tough test.

If he still is able to keep his streak alive...then give the man his first round ticket already.
34 game point streak would be craaaaazy!!!
