Didnt he also attempted in a penalty shot but couldnt convert?

Would've been probably youngest to score a goal either if that went in. I think Barkov was like 16 years and 2 or 3 month old to score first goal in liiga.

Yea he was probably nervous and thats why didn't score.

HIFK's head coach Jarno Pikkarainen confirmed in HIFK vs Ilves post game press-conference
Lambert stays to HIFK's liiga roster.

This means that Lambert will play this weekend's back to back games vs Oulun Kärpät.
Friday's Kärpät vs HIFK will be TV game in SUB TV channel and live broadcast of the game starts 18:00.

He had trouble handling the puck the whole night. Then again, this arena has infuriatingly bad ice so I've learned not to blame the players too much for falling around and mishandling the puck. Rookie mistake trying to stickhandle the puck, instead of going with a simple shot, on the penalty shot.

Overall, he didn't seem to have any problems with the physicality or the speed of the game. And I love it when youth players coming up aren't afraid to try to create, make plays offensively; too many times you see young guys that are out there just surviving. Then again, it's up to the coaches to encourage and give promising players real opportunities, allowing them to play in offensive roles with quality linemates. Lambert was put on the first line and he played the point on the 1PP unit.

Yeah he lost the puck control. Still played a solid game tho.

I've heard Auston Matthew's called the first Mexican-American taken first overall hundreds of times. So maybe we can start referring to Lambert as the first Canadian-Finn. :sarcasm:
Really? I saw it mentioned somewhere as a novelty fact, but if you heard that hundreds of times, you must have been specifically looking for it.

16 year 64 day old player playing in a top pro league, a pro league which is the best in the world in developing young, junior players at the moment. Notice: the best pro's developing league, not the best country in developing young, junior players, nor the best junior program, etc. etc.

Currently/already developed (future)star/(future)super star/quality players by the Sm-Liiga
