Not sure if its fair to compare his production for two-way type of centermen, but on the other hand that production lately is still something which makes you think what he can do next season in Liiga.

I think he's a better prospect than Raty and Lundell, so that's not surprising, but I wouldn't make too much of those stats. A lot of it is dependent on ice time, line mates, special teams, ES deployment, strength of the team, style of play.

Yeah, thats what I kind of meant about the stylistic comparison. Räty's production was probably a little lower cuz of his defensive responsibility, while Lambert clearly plays more offensive style and isnt the same lvl two-way player as Räty is.

I wouldnt make about stats either, I know that, but Jokke brought it out like it was some sort of bloody comparison between three similar type of guys which is totally unneccessary imo.

About the strenght of the teams I know both can ice good players, but Kärpät has probably a notch above lvl roster where one can produce, even if HIFK also has Liiga lvl experience (Engberg, Nordgren, Heljanko) Lambert has also played with.

Lambert has played most of his season as a 2nd line centerman with different type of guys and ran the PP aswell.

Hes among the best skaters in that league and his production wasnt on a lvl it is now at the beginning of the season mostly because he was adapting to C position and more all-around game.

Theres no question about if hes better than those two but I dont see it as equivalent comparison, cuz those two guys can handle 200 foot game better than Lambert who is just on a learning process.

Dont know why Jokke anyway brought those comparisons, but the production makes u still wonder how he culd do with stacked IFK team next ssn with his gifts in Liiga.

Lambert could be the best "Finnish" prospect ever. Of course he's only 16 so the projection can go downhill very quickly as well.

But saying he has a realistic chance to be the best Finnish player in the world in 5-10 years is not overkill.

My view doesn't change if he picks Canada. I'm glad to be able to follow his career.

"Finnish"?

Born in Finland, lived in Finland 99% of his life, Finnish mother, Finnish nationality...

Sounds pretty Finnish to me, no quotations needed.

Like holy shit, Auston Matthews's mother is from Mexico, but I'm yet to see anyone call Matthews "American". You rude.

I've heard Auston Matthew's called the first Mexican-American taken first overall hundreds of times. So maybe we can start referring to Lambert as the first Canadian-Finn. :sarcasm:

Lol i have literally never heard that anywhere, always that he was American, because he is. Why does it matter though? To concider Lambert more Canadian that Finnish is just fantasy.

Search “Auston Matthews Mexican American” on google and you fill find more than a handful of real articles that discuss his heritage and use that specific terminology when describing him.

True, genetically, he's half.
Genetically he is yeah, but if you ask yourself what nationality he is primaraly it's Finnish and its obvious concidering he's lived in Finland all his life an d has a Finnish mother, just like Jake Virtanen. His dad is Finnish but mother is Canadian, never have i had the need to adress him like that one rude guy couple posts up.

Doesn't that title already belong to Chris Pronger?
