Just watched whole game and left impressed.

He came as advertised and what has rly improved is his two-way game and how he supported D's.

His skating is rly explosive and edgework effortless-looking.

His vision is also impressive as he really seemed to find a tape even when pressured and created space with that.

He is (as expected tho) still very raw physically and cant get involved in every puck battle and came as a winner, but he doesnt stand back but culd even steal the puck with good timing in his sticklift and made the puck playable.

Something probably told about his debut and success that he was the guy relied on third period "chasing the equalizer" moments aswell and with goalie pulled coach wanted to put him on those situations on the ice.

Didnt rly make glaring mistakes and played smartly and situationally when it was needed and didnt try to do too much like emotional junior players sometimes try too fancy stuff.

When the debut is now over, I think it will just give him a lot of confidence to see, where he is and he culd made an immediate impact there being one of the most noticeable player on the ice everytime he was there.

I culd definetly see him on another game up.

Superior to Eichel would be saying a lot, he's probably got the most powerful stride in the league

Oh, i didn't know that, as i said i havent watched Eichel really enough, but i remember someone saying that he's not that fast on his edges and feet, didn't know his stride was so powerful.

No worries, he is a treat to watch play though. Probably the most effortless looking acceleration I've seen in a player in recent history at least

Heiskanen's got that effortless acceleration too with this powerful strides, it's something opponents usually underestimate, which makes it so lethal. His feet are fast as hell and his edgework is amazing too.

How does he compare to a guy like Eichel?

He reminds me much more of MacKinnon. Incredible speed and edges. Not quite legendary skating, like McDavid, but it’s probably going to be top 2-3 in his draft. Very good 1v1, can pass, shoot. Likes quick strike offense, but also can dominate the possession game. Right handed centers of a similar build.

Not only that, but he uses his teammates very smart, he sees plays before they happen, very much like J. Hughes.

It kinda sucks Lambert needs to play winger upcoming ( 2020 ) U18 WJC's.
It would have been so cool to see Räty and Lambert Finland's top centers in U18 WJC's next April.

Aatu Räty is right now a lot hyped center coming from Finland.
And now Lambert is taking his 1st steps as a pro too.

Hopefully HIFK can keep Lambert next 2 yrs too
because SM liiga is right place for Lambert to grow NHL player.

That's why it's a bit worrying that his contract with HIFK is only 1+2
and those option years are Lambert's not HIFK's.

And because it's up to Lambert will he use his option years with HIFK
he can still go to CHL if / when that's the route to NHL what he wants.

That NHL team who gets 1st overall pick in 2022 NHL draft
will have really difficult decision to do in draft night.

Wright is now number 1 favorite to be 1st overall 2022
but that Lambert is C / RW can become a difference in the end.

Especially then if that team clearly needs center who can play winger also.
And it's easier to put center play winger than winger play center

Its likely he is going to play winger but you are saying it like you are the coach and know everything. It is likely but you don't know it for sure.

Savoie is also a legitimate #1 candidate that year as well.

Also with 2 years out others could emerge as well.

He missed the recent U18 tournament and now he hasn't played for his club team either so I think he is injured. Hopefully nothing serious.

+ Teemu Turunen is out 6-8 weeks and Sebastian Dyk also injured.

Pikkarainen do you have eye for the game now?
