Unfortunately, seems like Lambert will not get the record, which is 15 years and 9 months and 1 day. Lambert would essentially need to play his first Liiga match by September 19.

Well, HIFK has their first home game on September 18 so you never know, theoretically...

It would be historic. Feels like a long time until he can play in the NHL. Maybe KHL before he's drafted?
Why on earth??? I don’t see this ever happening. KHL is a terrible development league - especially for a young Finnish talent. Too much of traveling that takes time away from training and having a balanced environment to develop physically in an optimal way.

Anyone who know if there will be some way to watch the semies? Probably wrong thread to ask that. But I would really much like to watch this kid play a full game.

All the VODs are still available, right? So you could watch all 3 full games he played if you wanted to.

This was a really nice fake. This ability should serve him well in the future. Deception's very important.

What's with Finnish top prospects and missed tap ins, though?

Don't hold your breath to wait Lambert playing to HIFK's liiga this season.
The odds for that Lambert makes his liiga debut this season are something between 10 to 30 percent.

Which means not very likely but not out of the question either.
Especially if HIFK has once again massive injury issues like they have had last 3 to 5 yrs.

Don't forget we are talking 15 yrs old teenage kid who's physically very raw
and not ready to be liiga regular this season.

It's very hard to say for sure when Lambert's liiga debut or senior debut will happen.
Or does it happen at all during this season.

I'm not fortune teller so i don't know what plans HIFK has made for Lambert.
Only what is sure is that Lambert's main team this season will be HIFK's A juniors ( U20 team ).

Source? Otherwise you are just guessing. And forget those percentages. None of us knows that accurately if he will play or how likely he will play in Liiga this season. Lets say that I’m pretty sure that he will play at least some games in Liiga this season, and you are pretty sure he won’t. But please keep those childish and arrogant percentages to yourself.

And when a player is really good enough, age is more like just a number. Sure endurance and physicality can be the question with such young kids. But that’s why they can exactly get at least some games if they are talented enough. We will see during the season if Lambert is talented enough to have already Liiga games. I’m voting for him getting at least some games.

Now i understand why you want see Lambert playing in SM liiga this season.
You want see him break Mikko Kokkonen's record to be youngest player ever in SM liiga.

But guess what HIFK do not have any reason to do that meaningless pr trick ( give to Lambert his liiga debut just because break Kokkonen's age record ) BUAH HAH HAH HAH HAA.
By the way do you realize that fact Lambert IS NOT ONLY young player who's looking liiga minutes in HIFK
There's also other young guys like Jääskä, Nordgren, Myllylä, And, Janhonen, Hämäläinen, Engberg
who are looking liiga games too.

Who is the guy who need to step aside and give his spot for Lambert.
HIFK is not like Jukurit, Sport, KooKoo, Ässät or Ilves where it is easy for a young player to take up a regular position in liiga roster.

Also it's not nobody on Petrell, Turunen, Keränen, Kangasniemi, Dyk, Sallinen and Saarinen
who are allowed to make space for Lambert It'll be one of those other young players.

I don't have nothing to say for you anymore so LEAVE ME ALONE.
Goodbye and good continuation

Or you missed Ippenator's point totally and you are making your own conclusions. Lambert will play in Liiga if he is good enough, Kokkonen's record has nothing to do with that. Quite an arrogant response to quite fair post. He may or may not play in the Liiga this upcoming year.

Do you seriously always need to post an offensive ramble whenever someone says something about HIFK? The last 2 lines - absolutely nothing to do with anything except your chance to be rude. And "buah hah hah hah haa"? Are you mentally stable?

If Lambert's good enough, he'll play. There's a good enough reason to believe that he will be. HIFK signed him to a pro contract, after all.

I think it's important to remember that the season will be long. So there's a lot of time to improve but also chance to overwork young players. Six months from now there's still around 10 games left in Liiga regular season. By then Lambert really should be ahead of guys like Myllylä who are other possible call-ups from juniors. Of course it's possible that there would be a kind of a stunt to get Lambert some Liiga games early, but now he seems to be with the U20 which is probably a good thing. However, more interesting currently is why he only seemed to play first of three games for that team's Swedish trip last week.

He chose Finland.
Again, he couldn't have chosen Canada without having played 2 full seasons in a row there. Not sure how many times I need to say this, must have been at least a dozen already.

Not that much new info, but seems like 1. he has a good attitude and 2. his idols are McDavid and Barzal.

Anyone that believed he would choose Canada over Finland is delusional
Well it was mostly just Swedes trolling and obviously some Canadians wanting him to play for their country, but other then that pretty much everyone knew he was going to choose Finland.

Any chance Lambert gets any time in Liiga this year? He’s such a dynamic skater and his hands are ridiculous.

The top of 2022 is looking fantastic already. Savoie, Lambert, and Wright are a nice trio. Obviously a lot can change as they’re still kids but that’s a good crop shaping up already.

Depends if he's proven he can handle the physicality of A-juniors first and plays well enough to earn a place.

For sure, he’s still a kid but his talent is undeniable.

From the interviews in English and the reports on him, he seems like a pretty good kid. Dare I say a good Finnish boy since he’s not Canadian :).

In all seriousness though, there’s lots of interest in him in Western Canada, if some Finns can keep us updated on his play that’d be great.
