yeah, i think horvat is currently taller and heavier than richards...and will probably get bigger at least a bit. he reminds me of....

Lol.

More to the Horvat projection, he just seems very heavy for his size, but it hasn't slowed him. He still skates pretty well. I think this is an underrated aspect of this player. His size will create mismatches among Dmen, and even taller centres.

Cant believe we have two 18 year olds in our opening lineup... If someone would have told me that at the end of last season I would have laughed at them

Thought I'd bump this as BoHo has made the Canucks! :handclap:

I was very bullish on Horvat this summer prior to the draft, I have him right in the mix with Monahan, Lindholm as top Center's in the 2013 draft class. Some people downplayed his talent, not me. He's a good one.

He's not as talented as Lindholm. Monahan's closer, but Monahan's still more impressive.

I'm not surprised Horvat made the team, but IMO he'd be better off in London for another season, playing a key role on a Mem. Cup-bound team, than on Vancouver's third line.

Agreed.

I think for both BoHo and Shink it will be a 9 game "cup of coffee" and then right back to junior. Nothing wrong with that though.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them sticks around longer due to injury(Booth, I'm looking at you)

Then it would probably be Shinkaruk, but I hope none of them stick beyond 9 games. One more year of Junior then we can go with both of them as full time NHLers next season.

That's probably where he'll be after a nine game stint, once Kass and Weise come back from their suspensions. Still, a taste of the NHL this early will be complementary to his development in London.

Nux prospect Bo Horvat has nine points in 5 games for London Knights since being sent back. Cole Cassels had 9 points in 9 games. #Canucks

Damn!

9 points in 5 games is not playing up to his potential?.

hope he keeps playing like this. first of all i like him as a prospect and secondly if he doesn't become the player he has the potential to be the whole Canucks goalie saga will have horrible end result.

Care to elaborate? I assume you watch the Knights.

Bo is playing like Bo.... he's to smart for the OHL. He picks off passes by reading the play, he lifts sticks or picks the puck off of sticks like it's nothing. Board battles don't take long in either end he comes out with the puck.

He's being used on the point on the PP.

He certainly doesn't look like he's trying to hard out there.

I don't think that's what he was trying to get at. More like: "things are coming easily to him right now". The Knights have won all 5 games with him in the lineup and he's 2 points behind the team leader with 3 games less played.

He's been good. Hasn't been playing up to his potential for the most part though.

You may be sincere one can't tell for sure but most of the Canuck and their prospect bashing comes from individuals who reside in Alberta and Ontario. If your comment was sincere my apologies but I would have to disagree with you anyhow as from all the information I can sift through like statistics, reports from London Night Fans who watch him and provide nice reports on the Canuck board, and game star selections where for example, in the only game in which he never even had a point he was selected third star tells me you are mistaken.

JL sees Bo alot. And you are correct Tiranis I think that's what he was getting at.
Nothing to be concerned about at all. It's not that he's going they the motions, the game is just coming easy to him.
He seems to be following up last years second half and POs by continuing to be a lil more aggressive looking for goals. I'm not sure how much well see him on the PP point thou going forward. When push comes to shove hell be taking those O zone PP draws. Dale just likes to mix things up, challenge players in different ways. It's a long year, might as well keep the kids engaged.

Leafs at Knight-- Can you evaluate on his play through the 5 games? His stat sheet obviously looks nice but if you are watching him game in and game out can you give us some of your thoughts on his game thus far this year compared to the first half of last year and the last half?

JL thanks for the insight I dont find myself having time to watch any of these games

Thanks for the insight knights fans :)

I'm not surprised about him winning majorly of board battles and coming away with the puck. All throughout the preseason, he never had an issue with strength or size when battling against NHL/AHL calibre grown men. He was actually knocking some down and pushing many off the puck.

Also nice to hear how strong his hockey sense is and now he reads the play.

"Also nice to hear how strong his hockey sense is and now he reads the play."
This^ is his biggest strength. He just gets it, plain n simple. Like a book he's already read at times.
Add that to a great work ethic, willingness to pay a price every game regardless of score (drive)
Add that to a skilled player with size n strength and ya got yourself a winner.
On his worst night he's still a positive to have on the ice.
Dale mixes lines alot, but Bo's line is always effective and he's the driving force behind that. That says a lot as well.

I've had season tics for @15 yrs and he's probly my fav player for reasons listed above and his character. (Prust is rifht there, but diesnt have the same skill set) And weve seen a lot of NHL stars and players come thru town.
Great kid

Should we be concerned?

Concerned no.... He's doing everything right. Bo's the type of player he could have half the points but still be dominating games because of his smarts.

When you get concerned with his game is when he's losing faceoffs and not paying attention to his own end or playing the full 200ft game he's so good at.

Like Arse has mentioned we both have seasons tickets and tune into games when they're away. We've seen a lot of Bo over the last 3 years.

The following are players that JL17 did/does not like:
Nazem Kadri, John Taveras, Bo Horvat. He likes to pick on skilled guys who could score in the OHL in their sleep, while he loved a guy like Brandon Knight because he was a blue collar guy.

Alot of fans tend to do that, I used to pick on Phil Kessel but now as a top 10 scorer I see I was obviously mistaken to do that.
