He will. This is sort of a pattern with him. He was feeling things out in the beginning of the OHL season, then started taking over with his play-making, and getting the odd tap in or garbage goal. Then he started letting his wrister go and the goals came in bunches after that.

The other problem is that neither Gallagher nor Prust are particularly adept at getting him the puck cleanly.

Eller's available to play on his line He's quite the passer

I think when its all said and done he will be a better player than Yakupov. Doesnt Edmonton wish they drafted a center like Galchy, even if he hasnt played much center this year, over another winger like Yakupov. A struggling one at that.

Yakupov = 10 points and +1 in his last 18 games (since being switched to RW, his natural position). Damn i wish he wasn't struggling, he should have at least PPG by now! Imagine if they had left the rookie in his natural position, instead of experimenting with him on his off wing. It didn't work.

Galchenyuk = 6 points and +2 in the same 18 game span.

Not saying Galchenyuk will be better than Yakupov (way too early to tell), but you can't use the argument that Nail has not been playing his natural position when Galchenyuk is the exact same situation. You are missing the point of my post i guess, people have this misconception that Yakupov is struggling, and it is not even close. He has looked great since they switched him back to RW. Further more, everyone seems to like using Gally to put down Yakupov for some reason. Its silly.

I really like Gally too, and he is probably my second player from the draft. Habs are my second favorite team coincidentally. I come here to find good highlights.

Oh for sure. I was just pointing out that when they made the switch, in Yakupov's case, it really helped him. It shows in his stats and on the ice.

Well, the difference seems to be powerplay time...Considering that 5 of Yakupov's 9 goals have come on the powerplay, it makes a big difference.

I never said there wasn't a difference. In fact, I didn't make any claims what-so-ever, I just copy and pasted their ice time from NHL.com; which the poster, whom I quoted, didn't feel the need do (for whatever reason).

Yea I wish we didn't have such a logjam at center, Galchenyuk played a lot better at centre than on the wing.

PP playing time does factor into points. But Yakupov gets more PP time because he is good on it and is able produce. You cant say Yakupov makes PP and Galy doesnt because Yak plays on a weaker team. PP % for both teams are about the same. If Gally was a good PP player hed make the PP. Good players can play good even strength as well as contribute on PP. PP is an important part of the game

You couldn't be more wrong about this. It's not his fault the Habs have one of the league's top units and they don't want to change it as a result. And in the brief times he's gotten PP time, he's looked solid on it.

As an Oiler fan I can honestly admit that I have no regrets of picking Yak over Gally. At the beginning of the year I was thinking the Oil made a mistake (though didn't blame them due to Gallys injury).

Now after watching Yaks immense talent I have no regrets with the pick. Maybe Gally will be better....so be it. Yaks potential ceiling is insane. He has areas to work on but if he keeps developing and working hard Yak can be special. He's unique and has superstar potential. Maybe he doesn't become one but he has the talent to do so.

I'm glad Habs fans are happy with Gally.....I think I can speak for Oil fans and say we are more than happy with Yak.

Ill also add that both Habs fans and Oiler fans should both be glad that we have these special talents and get to watch something special grow and develop

Therrien doesn't want to take gionta off the pp cause he's the captain, desharnais is on the pp for no real reason and after that everyone else has earned their pp time except maybe to a lesser extent plekanec but he's a veteran so I doubt he moves for a rookie. Seriously who can galchenyuk replace on the pp without disturbing the lockeroom?

Galchenyuk has the second most amount of ES points among rookies after Conacher. If he were on the powerplay he would have even more. The brief glimpses we've seen he's been great. There are a lot of veterans on the Habs and its tough to take them off the PP, plus Therrien likes using his regular lines most of the time. Gally plays on the 3rd line, so he gets leftovers from time to time with Eller. Gally has 2 less points than Desharnais and Gionta...yet they still get PP time over him which is kind of annoying.
