You may get your wish.

George isn't for sale and especially not to London. I think it'd be hard enough for the fans to stomach trading him this season, let alone to the team we dislike the most.Would the Knights love to have Carter George? Sure, who wouldn't?
At this point, they don't have the assets to trade for him, and OS fans say he won't be traded.
Owen Sound could be a little scary in the playoffs, but the real threat would be if he gets traded to a competitor.
Parsons would be a nice add, but swapping an OA for an OA wouldn't likely happen at this point. It should have happened instead of trading for Elliott.
London should be done trading, unless Luchanko comes as 2nd part of the Guelph deal when the trading window for 16 year olds opens up. I personally hope not though.
I predict Musty to Erie, Luchanko to Barrie, and Parsons and George stay put. Oshawa could use Gibson but doubt they have enough left to get him?
As a Kitchener fan, I hope you're correct. I've always found the most enjoyable seasons are when the small market teams are strong.George isn't for sale and especially not to London. It's a conversation for next year. Owen Sound is in real tough to even make the playoffs this season, and the team is weak enough that even George channeling the spirits of the greatest OHL goalies in the playoffs won't be enough for an upset.
There's obviously an asset case to be made for George since even I've brought it up on the Attack board, but there's no history to suggest DeGray would ever entertain that, no indication the owners or fans would stomach it, and because of the defrayed acquisition cost for the team looking at getting George, means the price would be astronomical. Even with two decent looking goalies on the roster currently, it's such a huge step down from George that the team gives up any real pretense of being back in the mix next season. With such a dearth in goaltending, this is the opportunity for Owen sound to make out like bandits with George. So many contenders wasting a spot on an OA goalie. The only truly viable non-OA goalie that could potentially be available is George. The ability for the acquiring team to flip him next year is also advantageous even if the initial acquisition cost is high. There is a possibility that an acquiring team that currently is using an OA slot on a goalie could acquire George AND a high end OA for marginally more than the cost of the 19 year old skater. And, if you factor in the return next year, the cost could be significantly less int he aggregate.

Plus, there would be a 0% chance he's traded to a Western conference team where he'd have to play against the Attack more than twice ever again. The optics would be horrific. That leaves very few potential buyers that have the dry powder to make such a move.
Between the limited teams that wouldn't cause a huge uproar from the fans, and the Eastern teams that have the assets to even make a move like that, it's purely a hypothetical move and not happening this year.
Just curious why the optics are terrible? The team is 9-18, it's not like they're trading him during a competitive window. I would think the optics of not trading him would be worse, unless the team is expecting a big improvement next season?
And it's not like they didn't trade Hancock, Suzuki and Durzi to divisional rivals in the same season. OS and London have made quite a few mutually beneficial trades over the years.
That being said, he's not coming to London this year.

This is not true, OA goalies are not worth much, even the really good ones!you’d get the same return next year that you would this year

He won't be an OA, he's an 06 born. This is not true, OA goalies are not worth much, even the really good ones!
Fair point, than absolutely no reason to trade him this yearHe won't be an OA, he's an 06 born.
Really…..? George is 18This is not true, OA goalies are not worth much, even the really good ones!
if Rehkopf is worth 10 picks for a season, what’s a goalie line George worth for a season and a half, 15 picks? You think? If you use the Leenders deal as the comparable, I doubt you’d get a Leenders type return for George next year. Of course, it will depend a lot on the Goalie landscape but it is tough to think George would be traded for same next year if the Leenders benchmark is what his worth is this year.
That said, trading the 18 year old elite players really only hedges against the possibility of graduation. It really worked out well for the 67’s with Konecny but did Mississauga make out significantly better than Peterborough did when they moved Beck the following year? Aiden Young vs JVV with the only difference in pick being the 4th and maybe a slight shuffle in years of the picks…. So I can understand your point.
My point is this year with such a dearth in goaltending, his value may be intrinsically higher. If a team like Kingston needs a goalie and are currently using an OA slot on Lalonde, even if they had to pay a Leenders type price, they could open up that OA slot and fill a second gap with an OA. Strategically speaking, for Kingston that would make sense (assuming they had the right assets to make the deal). Hell, Kingston needs the D-Man, they could move Lalonde, players, picks for George and K.Smith and fill two gaps in one trade. OS gets the assets in hand now to use as required.
