See but there you go, when did Cernak ever get suspended for elbowing a guy in the head when they were nowhere near the puck? Provide of a video of him doing that and I will agree that Leaf fans have a right to call bs on this.
I can find multiple incidents where he does so but doesn't get suspended but that's just proves the laughable double standard. The league protecting one of the biggest head hunters in the NHL with harsher punishments is nutty. Hell in the same game he got suspended for the Okposo hit he got Cozens straight in the face.

Didn't he get 2 games for a hit very similar to buntings

So provide me with them, stop saying you can and do it. Provide me with a video of Cernak elbowing someone in the head when they're nowhere near the puck. If you guys can find similar hits, then lets see them.

in 2020 against buffalo, except he was looking the opposing player in the eye

I'm going to guess you're referring to this hit in November 2019

So for starters, this doesn't check off all the boxes because not only were they right next to the puck, but Dahlin literally has the puck immediately before being hit. Secondly Cernak was suspended 2 games for this.

So again, not a comparable hit. You're missing the key factor of Bunting's hit being interference and nowhere near the puck. Cernak couldn't prepare himself for contact because he was not expecting to be hit plays a significant factor here.

Seems about right. Thing is, even if it wasn't a jumping elbow to the head, it still would have been an illegal hit and interference, so Cernak had absolutely no reason to expect any kind of a hit.

Reverse hit, its a thing

He missed and got suspended

Bunting needs the puck or to be engaging with the puck to do a reverse hit, though.

What he did was hit a man in the head as the puck went around the boards.
no, not in the playoffs, there was alot of interferance at all times, as there should be in the playoffs

Like i siad, he missed and got suspended

Extremely excessive. 6 games for a first time offender. Playoff games equal 2 reg season are 1

Doesn’t matter though. Mcauley will handle the rest with ease. Leafs now 0-8 in playoff games with that pos reffing. No conflict of interest there to worry about right. League is embarrassing

The puck wasn't anywhere near and it was a predatory hit straight to the head of an unsuspecting player. He was suspended for the rest of the playoffs and I would say that's a fair assessment.
