What has he done last season to up his value from 15th overall to 8th overall plus a roster player who got a top 4 defenseman straight up and another prospect?

He was sold low for the 15th overall first of all. Secondly, Hamilton is easily better than Kulikov AINEC. What has he done to warrant it? How about another 40+ point season, where he was actually good defensively if you take away his 15 game start. This year he's been excellent when not playing with scrubs either, and he only has more room to grow.

buffalo counters with justin bailey for matthew tkachuk, just because its an equally terrible offer

I'm sorry, but if you're insulted with a top prospect who was once hailed as a top 5-10 pick, but only fell because of 'attitude' (there have been no issues in Stockton), that you'd compare him to a prospect that might be a third line guy, that's pretty ridiculous.

I like how Nylander has suddenly become "might be a third line guy".

I'm done thinking you might have a clue about what your talking about. Your as bad as OP.

You fail to understand or acknowledge that Kylington is one whole year ahead of Nylander in his development. You compare .6 to .5, when in fact you should be comparing .6 to .25 (Kylington's PPG his first year in Stockton). And yeah, I think of Kylington as a offensive Dman because he isn't a defensive Dman. Maybe he's starting to get his D game right, whatever. It doesn't matter to me because the premise of this thread is ridiculous, and you chipped in with more silly.

for the most part HF doesn't understand the concept of a 19 year old in the AHL so I wouldn't hold out much hope for them to start analyzing 18 year old players in that league correctly.

You're replying to a guy comparing the offensive production of a forward to offensive production of a defenseman. If you're going to comment about how players are analyzed in the AHL, you might want to start there.

I'm just speaking in general. If I were going to comment in ways HF can mis-conceive the comparison I'd also mention Kylington is 19 in the AHL too and would also likely for the same reasons be underrated.

Just saying junior aged players in the AHL are probably the biggest causes of value misconception of prospects on here

You kero thinking that......if it was j7sts attitude he m8ght have fell to the late 1st because a playoff drafting team would take that risk if he had the talent...but he diesnt have the talent of a top 5-10 pick.

Can he make the nhl...we will see. There are numerous players who do well in the S BUT Can't do Anything IN THE nhl.

It seems not many people in this thread have actually watched a 2016-17 Stockton Heat game. Kylington is by far the more valuable piece going forward, that will become clear during the WJC where both players will play together. The only reason I would be willing to trade him is because Nylander fits a need better.

The only thing worse than reading more of your valuations of players is the aggravating double gap you leave after periods.

Buffalo fans please ignore

Sabres don't even have a top-6 LW in their entire roster worth playing. Nylander fits a huge need.

Bailey might be a third-liner just as much as Kylington might be a bottom-pairing guy, so Tkatchuk for Bailey is a fair comparison.

Bailey has all the tools to be an electrifying top 6 power forward, he has developed well and he's NHL-ready to boot, but who knows if he's going to reach that ceiling.

While I would like a player like Kylington in the system, I am not trading a player with Nylander's skill for Kylington. It would require a more highly touted prospect. I would offer someone like Baptiste who is PPG in the A this year and has shown promise at the NHL level (although he maxes out as a 2nd liner).

Dont think something like that would interest the Flames fans.

Not a bad proposal. Baptiste for Kylington would have the Flames swap a bit of potential for more sure-fire NHL-readiness.

I get the sentiment, but disagree on Bailey's potential. Haven't watched him much, just based on what I've seen/heard. But that's another topic.

The main proposal, and this proposal (value aside, I am extremely high on Kylington), don't make sense for us. Defense is our current weakness.

What a painful thread. Most flames fans all know nylander >> kylington in value right now.
I know I can overvalue some of our prospects sometimes (Janko, Klimchuk, Gilles... etc), but this thread is just beyond words in how terrible it is.

Flames have zero interest in trading Kylington. He's looking looking like a top pairing d-man in the making.

Kylington was a steal of pick.
