And there goes Boyd and Gilbert. There won't even be anything worthwhile as far as UDFA go. All in on Manuel! Why have a backup plan for the most important position in the game?

You thought a 7th round pick was going to be a viable backup plan for the most important position on the field haha.

They're far better off signing a June 1 vet.

I do partially agree on the sediment. They need to find a vet. This season is ALL on EJ and quite frankly I really would take the easy bet of him getting hurt. Plus his accuracy stinks and he under and over throws a lot as well.

Thad wasn't THAT bad......

I liked Thad. He's a decent backup qb, but he'll never be anything more than that.

That might hurt EJ's confidence. He's our guy. He needs the best OL and every WR to succeed. Give the baby his bobba.

Yeah it does seem like they're a little too concerned about EJ's confidence. That's the only logical explanation for completely ignoring the qb position in a draft deep at qb. If management thinks any sort of competition will adversely effect his confidence I have even less faith in him than I already did.

No actually I didn't. I would have drafted Savage over a one-dimensional lb or at the very least drafted McCarron or Murray with my other 5th rounder instead of trading it away for a future 5th rounder. At this point I doubt they get a vet that's worth a damn, it'll be another Dennis Dixon type if they do anything at all.

Nothing he's done. How he's being treated by the team and media. In today's game of football, it's ridiculous how they handle the QB position.
It's not about his confidence, it's about him getting as many reps as possible (particularly as he missed half of training camp last season) - something that's not possible when you are trying to develop another rookie QB and having a "competition".

You're not smarter than the vast majority of NFL teams who handle the QB position this way. Trust me.

Not really. Never thought that EJ was ever impressive. I know its mad easy to say given results but in 1 year Winston was more impressive than the 4 years combined of EJ. Couple that with he had multiple surgeries on the same knee!
As an extremely avid fsu fan, Benjamin was terrible, dropped everything in sight. Benjamin didn't turn it on until the Florida game this year. Also that oline improved immensely along with that filthy run game. If Ej could have played this year he would have at least made it to the National Championship game.

And with the Bills' final pick, they choose Seantrel Henderson, OT, The U.

He was a top recruit out of high school. He had more personal problems at the U. He tested positive for smoking pot, and he did at the combine. He quit on the pro day.

This one will be a project and taking a chance.

He is this years equivalent of Da'Rick Rogers

If it works out he would be a steal.

Fine, a mid-to-late round pick. A total waste of time all the same. The vast majority of starters in the NFL come from the first couple of rounds. If/when Manuel flops, they'll use another high pick on a QB. These middling prospects won't be any better than Lewis/Dixon during the current period in which the Bills are committed to Manuel. They might as well take a player in the mid rounds who may actually get on the field, i.e. DB, LB, etc.

They were a good team but that was one cupcake of a schedule.

So you are saying Brady waste a waste of time?

You're comparing a linemen to a QB. Linemen will never get the glory.

How ???????? The conversation was of drafting a QB with a late pick.

many feel its a waste of a draft pick because nothing usually comes of it. Its rare a low round QB pick makes any sort of impact on the team. drafting a LB, OL, DB, etc...you get someone eho actually could play on special teams or be a project that you may actually get someone from.

getting a starting QB outside of rounds 1 & 2 picks is very very rare.

The odds of finding a serviceable player at OL/DL/LB/etc. is way better than finding the next Tom Brady. There are currently only 2 starting QBs drafted 4th round or later: Brady and Nick Foles.
