Cyril Richardson, Guard out of Baylor.

Needed an OG but I don't know anything about him. Anyone?

Bills trade this year's 5th for Tampa's 7th this year and a 5th next year. Good deal, especially when they pick in 4 spots

I didnt like the value....

Usually if a team gives up a pick next year its a round higher.

I think it should have been for a 4th in 2015 + 7th.

That's total nitpicking.

I've gotta think they wanted the guard Minnesota took.

I don't know much about Richardson but they are nailing need right now. I like it.

Whaley seems set on recouping the value in next year's draft outside of the first pick. He got the 4th back for Stevie, moved it for Brown, and then got a comparable pick here by trading down. Keep in mind that the 5th he traded away was a bonus pick from the trade down in the second round.

I'd like to see them package their 2 7ths for a 6th rounder for a DE or TE.

BUST!

But seriously, seems everyone had a 3rd-4th round grade on him. Gives Marrone someone to coach up.

I agree they wanted a player a few yimes that then got drafted 1-3 picks ahead of them.

AS for the trade of picks----had this been a pick at the bottom of the 5th round then getting a 5th next year is fine. buffalo's pick was near the top. I also wouldnt have had as much of an issue if it was something like a 5th in 2015 + TB 6th round pick

Draftnasty rates Richardson as their #3 OG behind Su'a-Filo and Jackson. Big and mean with tackle experience. Needs to work on his set and leverage in pass pro. Compares to Justin Blalock.

Whaley has done a really strong job addressing needs, especially on the offensive side of the ball. We get a legit #1 WR, a starter at RT, depth/competition at guard, and a RB that guarantees we'll always have a quality runner on the field no matter what. The only other thing he possibly could have done for EJ would have been adding a dynamic TE upgrade over Chandler, but the opportunity was never really there.

There are some concerns on the defensive side yet. There's a definite need for a DE.

Bills did a pretty good job with most of their picks. Like the Kouandjio and Richardson picks, and was ok with the Cockrell pick. Brown was a stupid pick and trading a 5th rounder for a 5th rounder next year was Pejorative Slured. Especially when they could have had one of Murray, McCarron, or Mettenberger. Really disappointed that their putting all their eggs in the Manuel basket and have absolutely no backup plan if he flops.

Come on there is a reason why the three m QBs out of the sec went in the 5th/6th. I'd take Boyd in the 7th or blow his phone up as soon as the drafts over and grab him as an Udfa. He has 3 super productive seasons and the Bills love their Clemson guys.

Bills are weak at LB, especially run-stopping. Whom would you have taken instead?

I'm confident BUF will acquire a QB in Rd 7 or as UDFA, or in pre-season. It is clear they are committed to EJ at least for this season. A stop-gap vet backup can be found. An adequate rookie can be found in Rd7 or as UDFA.

edit: those who know me on these boards know I am far from being PC, but "inept" or "nonsensical" may be better adjectives than "Pejorative Slured".

I'm a Taj fan. Have followed him / Clemson for years, seen him play in person. He's s solid athlete, a high-character guy, leader, is a little older, has already started a family, and I believe is very low risk as a UDFA signing or possible 7th rounder.

I'd consider signing him just to keep Watkins from doing anything boneheaded once he's in BUF.
