He blew up when McCoy was hurt, right? I don't know much about him.

Yep. Had a coming out party so to speak on national TV, but literally fumbled away his chance to prove he could do it consistently. He's had a few chances.

Talent wise he's far better than any RB we could draft right now.

Fumbles like a champ though.

He did. I believe he was the #1 recruited RB coming out of high school. Was a Kiffin recruit at Tennessee, so there's that. Has ball control issues, but he's been lightly used which I like, good Fred/CJ injury insurance with the potential to break out. I prefer this to drafting a RB.

Bryce Brown was second in the league in GBYPA in 2012. Bills were 4th in GBR in 2013. Potentially high-impact FFB combo.

For Bryce Brown, Eagles are getting back a conditional 4th-round pick in 2015 that can be a 3rd in 2016, per source.

Reading through these posts, it's fair to say I'm not a knowledgeable as most of you on NFL football...but I love the Watkins pick. If nothing else, it's the first time this team has aggressively pursued an area of weakness in a long time. It's nice to see this statement from the Bills that enough is enough.

Or, maybe I'm just reading it wrong.

If we traded that much for him then Freddy definitely isn't getting re-signed. I'll take a Spiller/Brown combo.

Seems like Brown has been around forever, he's only turning 23. I think they do one more year of Freddy while Brown works himself into the lineup. Or they don't want to re-sign Spiller.

IMO this is the kind of move good franchises make. ID a player stuck in a situation where he's not getting a lot of playtime, but when he's played he's exploded.

With age/contract/injury concerns at that position on the Bills, I love this.

What I heard was it was the SF pick we got for SJ.....is it different?

He blew up when McCoy was hurt, right? I don't know much about him.

I only know him from the NFL because I don't follow much college football, but I read that he was one of the top RB recruits over the past many years going into college. However, he didn't start a single game in college or until McCoy got hurt.

From what I've seen (and I clearly remember watching his first game as starter for the Eagles), he has just a fantastic blend of speed and strength. Dude is like 5'11 22X pounds.

He suffers from some East-West-itis and had fumble issues in his first year. I think fumble issues get overblown based on sample size. I believe he had 4 fumbles in not a ton (obviously) of carries that year. What if he only had 2 fumbles, would anyone care? Probably not. He needed to protect the ball better but chance factors heavily into such a sample size. He had 0 fumbles last year.

I love the pick [edit: the trade]. He will be in the mix even with CJ and Fred. If one gets hurt they shouldn't miss too much of a beat, having two good backs still. If both get hurt he's the kind of guy who could start a few games and have big performances. After this year, if Fred retires or CJ negotations break down, he gives some serious insurance going forward. He could become a starter and probably a top 15 back, but he needs coaching just like Spiller did when he came in.

Good analysis, thanks. And they also have Dixon to complement whatever East-West-itis that Brown may have. That's a nice stable of RB's with flexibility for the future.

Come on David Yankey!!!!

Bills trade this year's 5th for Tampa's 7th this year and a 5th next year. Good deal, especially when they pick in 4 spots

Are you kidding me? Kuondjio owned ND in the National Championship game 2 years ago. He made pancake after pancake. Alabama ran continuously to his side all game!! they ran the hell out of ND in that game. Kuandjio is a beast, 6 ft 7, 322 lbs. If you haven't seen much of him and I assume you haven't you'll quickly change your mind on him. The only thing that prevented him from being a top 15 pick was his knee injury. Other than that he is going to be a star. He's only 20 years old as well. I love our picks so far.

No offense but that 2012 ND team has to be the most overrated college team I can think of in quite some time.

I don't understand it at all... Meager return and it's not like we don't still have positions we can upgrade or bolster this year with a 5th round pick
