Congrats to Buffalo for moving on from an athletes who was just a headache for the franchise. Eichel is talented but sometimes it’s just not a fit and he never seemed to gel in Buffalo. Certainly wasn’t someone I’d consider to be a good captain.

Didn’t win the trade but getting depth with speed is so important - Buffalo has to improve their depth at every position and this is a good start. Removing the Cap hit of $11 million is a huge win for the franchise - that alone was worth it

Kind of hoping Seravalli’s tweet about the package including a defenseman as well ends up being true when the trade call is finalized.
I heard they were going to throw in Hague, but Granto told KA he wasn't going to take Butcher out.

;)

I’m happy. Happy it’s finally over, it probably wasn’t draining on management or ownership, but it was definitely draining on the league and fans. I’m happy Eichel finally gets the surgery he needs.

With that being said, rumor had it this deal was done if Vegas put Krebs on the table. Good for Kevyn for waiting that out. I’m interested to see how well Tuch plays higher up the lineup and 3 first in a supposed good draft, like someone said before don’t go full 2015 Boston!

The hidden asset in the trade of the fanbase/organization moving on can't be understated.

Kidding aside, Buffalo is amassing some serious future pieces. They could be very scary one day soon but I have a voice in the back of my head, the same one that Buffalo fans have…and that voice is running through scenarios of how they can screw it all up.

Pegula gets impatient after next year, fires Adams after 2 years, promotes another yes man currently in the organization, like Kevin Devine, and proceeds to hire another inexperienced head coach...

The St. Louis Blues were DEAD f***ING LAST even with RoR scoring at a ppg until Jordan "horseshoe" Binnington appeared. And since their fluke run they have won 2 playoff games total, not series, games. Enough about RoR. "Top 10 Hart candidate", what does that even mean? RoR is now a top 10 player?
Sorry, top 13 Hart candidate in 2019, and then 18th last year.

You have 400 people HS classes in America?
A lot of larger school districts I've seen will have 5 or more elementary schools in town that eventually funnel into one high school.

(I was small town - graduating class of 120)

Hard to believe we waited this long and that’s the return...

Trams must have really been lowballing the Sabres if this was the deal that finally got things done.

There’s going to be a # of GMs that are going to surely regret not beating that offer once Eichel’s back on the ice and playing at a super star level in Vegas (with actual talent around him).

maybe I’d feel better about the deal if Tuch was playing and Krebs wasn’t struggling this season. But it is what it is.

I’m not mad at Adams for the return. I’m sure he did the best he could in this situation. The surgery situation killed the return. It would’ve been totally different if Eichel could’ve had surgery in Buffalo then shown he was healthy again. Not sure I even blame Eichel. It was just a crap situation all around with no one person necessarily at fault. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bitter about him going to a place where he’s very likely to have s ton of success and maybe even win a Cup though.

Some have already pointed out the idea of easing Krebs into the organization with the Amerks, perhaps even with Peterka and Quinn on the wings. He was playing wing for the Knights when in the lineup, I wouldn't mind seeing him get back to working on his game in the middle.

NYR fan here in peace... congrats on getting this done finally.

I think you'll be happy w/ Krebs

Glad to see no useless cap dump was coming back either. I shudder to think what this trade would have been with Murray or Botterill in charge.

Solid B+ on Adams here. Adds Tuch & Krebs to the roster. Goes into 2022 with 3 1sts. Moves a $10 million salary with no retention or taking a salary dump in return.

Eichel had an 8th placed Hart season. Does not make him a top 8 player. People need to let RoR go, we have 2 players playing well from that trade right now for us while Johnson is a bonafide top 4 D prospect.

I love this site regarding Jack, all we heard for months from other teams fans "oh Jack may never play again, his neck makes his value worthless" and now the trade happens and its "oh Vegas fleeced the Sabres".
