Jack was skating and doing drills before surgery. Jack was supposed to be skating pretty soon after ADR surgery. Why are people amazed he's skating now?

As for him being good? Yes, he's a top 10 player when on his game, he's going to be really good for Vegas. There's little doubt.

It’s the NHL hype machine. It wasn’t engaged for Buffalo Eichel. It’ll be in full effect for Vegas Eichel.

same. still can’t tell if he is a mulletman / illpucks style performance art troll or the biggest eichel fanboy of all time, but i guess it doesn’t really matter. the enthusiasm still goes unmatched

Lemme write 5000 words on why he was a goddamn king. Seriously, very few posters were that memorable on the mains, he never got into ad hominem attacks, he somewhat considered counter viewpoints but would explain his side as best as possible. His takes were often way off, imo, but I legit respected his passion and ability to keep a cool head even while others blasted him.

And people are going to say we got robbed, i like the pieces he got us but we should have gotten more like another first and another prospect or 2nd and a 3rd

We did get robbed. We should have received 4 pieces, and given up nothing in addition to Mr. McPouty. As it is, the trade that was done ok, and it’s something to be looked at 5 years from now, but the conditional pick on the Sabres end will always be stupid. Especially seeing the 1st has a chance to be worse than it can be. It should have been a Chicago and Columbus return (top 2 protected, at worst top 3 protected). If Vegas felt confident this year, then you play that.

Gotta keep in mind the long term injuries with Stone, Pacioretty, Eichel (and Tuch) that they probably weren’t confident but knew there would never be another chance to get a top C like Eichel they desperately needed again within their window. I think no matter how hard Adams pushed they would’ve scrapped the deal without the condition. Probably hoping for the best but really regrouping next year with everyone healthy.

I’ve really come around a lot to the deal since it happened. I could see Tuch become our hometown powerforward captain that reaches a few 60 point seasons, Krebs as a 2C playmaking 70 pt player and the first. That’s a couple ifs but that isn’t too shabby at all and it’s a complete home run if Eichel doesn’t return to form.

Anaheim likely had no interest in giving up that package or Eichel’s preferred surgery.

I would have refused if I were Anaheim’s GM too, but when Sabres fans said that, and Ducks fans scoffed, it shows we were right. But Jesus, one of Drysdale or Zegras and both 1sts would have been fine. Or Zegras and Drysdale and one 1st.

Of course, Anaheim would have had to be fine with the surgery.

Hell, anything involving Zegras would've been a win for us. Their doctors not allowing the surgery makes it all moot though.
