Unless Buch was asking for $7+ mil, this is horrific…even if he gets that this is really bad.

At least my hopes for a better future under Drury were short lived…won’t sting as much watching us burn for 10 more years.

Well, (very) early returns on Drury are not great.

Built Boston is a much better resumè than what looks like deconstructing New York.

"not great" is like saying Parros "could've handled the Wilson situation better"

You guys are so emo…. There was NO WAY Buch had a sustainable spot in the top 6 with the youngsters we have and there would been paying him 5-6M for bottom 6 ice time. A 1st would have been nice, but he overperformed and it seems like a relatively fair return. Blais is an impactful role player and still young.

The main board version of this trade is basically 1 page of fans of other teams going "WTF?" and 5 pages of Buffalo fans spiking the football. Pretty sure I hate that fanbase more than the Pens/Devils/Isles at this point. I don't know how fans of a team THAT bad can be so f***ing arrogant.

You guys really don't understand how good and cheap Blais is. Don't mind the trade. Just don't understand why we acquired a LW. Maybe Kreider is waiving his NMC.

I think someone forgot to let Drury in on the fact that the letter was sent out a couple of years ago, not yesterday.

I made peace with Buch leaving, but the return is still very, very bad for his caliber of player.

@Edge

What do you make of this?

More moves are definitely on the radar.

I think for better or worse Drury has vision for what he wants the bottom six to be and I think he's going to make some of those Amonte for Matteau/Noonan type moves we've discussed on here.

The concern for me right now is that Drury, from most reports, has kind of taken an isolationist approach thus far. Maybe that works for him. We will see.

Blais is 9 months younger than Buch and has a career high of 15 points.
