I think Franco is just confused, after all a certain person also had an inappropriate relationship with a minor, his own daughter no less, and the media decided it wasn't worth writing a story about. Sorry Wander, welcome to the American media.

And Tommy John surgery it is for McClanahan, expected to miss all of next season as well. We sure do know how to blow out some arms.

I guess I’d like some elaboration as to the facts of how the coaches have “coached” or instructed the pitchers so that they have “blown out” their arms. I‘m in Reno so I’m not privy to to some local writing, but I did live in Tampa for 30+ years and am always interested in Rays news and reports. My experience is that the club has generally had a commendable record with “pick ups” from other clubs that have gone on to overperform.

Jesus Christ. We blew out ANOTHER arm. Out with Kyle Snyder and his crew. Get rid of every last one of them because we are clearly doing something to these guys that is hurting them. Shoot them into the sun

Only they're gonna know that. If I had to guess, it's because our pitching coaches have no idea what the ideal body mechanics unique to each player is. The problem lies in that we take broken players and try to fix them and wind up physically breaking them. The Rays in their attempts to improve on all these players' former problems blows them up because pitching is such a precise science that doesn't allow for margin of error.

In McC's case, we see that he did have previous Tommy John in 2015 at USF, so I would wonder how the current coaching staff precipitated a second TJ now. I don't know. Just asking.

I am f***ing PISSED OFF boys. Cash barely gets 80 pitches out of these guys per night and they all blow out their arms anyway.

Nah, I sadly don't know. There's probably a ton of guys around here who have played ball though (maybe not in HF Lightning) but they'd know enough about pitching mechanics to give an answer but you'd have to find the right one

That's a good point, that our starters are actually pitching less but still getting hurt. They should be more fresh, more durable than pitchers from other teams.

As to the cause, who knows. It could be rest related, it could be diet related (inflammatory stuff), it could be how we prepare our pitchers during the offseason/Spring training, maybe even our pitchers overdoing it on the mound because they know they're going to get pulled earlier than they would with other teams. It's most likely a combination of several things.

Well, Littel acquitted himself pretty well. 80 pitches and the one ER/dinger. Then Kelly goes one pitch and a 2run HR. Damn. Bobble by Diaz, throwing error on Pinto, and then its 5-0. What a bizarre game. And Joc with the lamest slide ever. Fits. Now maybe Civage gets his mojo on. Need both of them down the stretch.

More terrible managing from Cash. Littel had pitched well enough, there were two outs in the 6th and a good chance to keep it 1-0. But here comes the spreadsheet manager to pull him in favor of a trash reliever(Kelly is one of the worst on the team and should be dfa'd imo), and the game quickly gets out of hand. A microcosm of this team for two months now, generally decent starting pitching but a dumpster fire pen in addition to an offense that can't seem to put two consistent performances in a row together=a team that isn't going deep in October.

Bats are def Jekyl and Hyde, except for Diaz. BTW, fortunate Rozzie wasn’t injured-good on the fans to help him get out of the net.

Got the DR Jekyll bats today, and Civale pitched a gem. 6IP, 5H no runs. So, maybe, just maybe Littell and Civale can hold up the bottom of the starting staff. Time will tell, but good to see.

Basabe is no Franco, but he has not looked at all out of place, either in the field or at the plate.

But, JFC! This franchise has been voodoo'ed.

Franco did this to himself. Like I've been there dude. You gotta say no. It was a classmate of mine in college named S. She's married with a 5 year old son asking if she can have me for her 32nd birthday present. Former Vegas stripper I might add. S later proposes getting together AGAIN but this time also with my buddy Sean after seeing us study in the library. I'm barely old enough to drink at this time like Franco has been these last few years and am woefully unhappy with my girlfriend but don't have the heart to dump her either. This went on for an entire semester. Yeah. Of course I wish I could have. And I'd have destroyed a marriage and family in the process and said absolutely not. As far as I know S patched it up with her husband to this day.

You gotta say no man. Franco's bad decisions voodoo'd the Rays

Well the Rays were just completely jobbed by one of the worst non overturns I've ever seen. Clear as day the 1B foot was off the bag and the Rays win 6-5, but nah, out call at 1st stands, what a joke.

The Rockies are so f***ing bad. Oh my God
Yup. You beat the teams you're supposed to beat right? That non call at first last night was the most egregious I've seen, in like forever. But, they persevered and got the W anyway. Kittridge and Fairbanks are more than formidable relievers. They are all now hitting on 11 of 12 cylinders.

Yeah, after falling to 7-17 for the month late in July(63-44) overall, they've turned it around considerably with a 15-7 record. September is more difficult than August in terms of the schedule, so hopefully, they will be able to finish this month strong and keep it rolling. Winning the East and likely getting home field through the AL will go a long way to them reaching the WS again.
