Glasnow is in mow mode. Great to see. And the big bats show up, again. The "lowly Yankmees" are almost last in every offensive category. 99 is worth the price of a ticket. The rest of 'em, not so much.

It sure would be great if the Rays' supposed ace actually looked something like one in a 2nd half of a season. It's the same story as last year all over again with him it seems. He's been terrible for at least his last 6 or so starts.

Lol, naturally every starter acquired at the deadline that has pitched so far(Flaherty, Lorenzen, Scherzer) all looked good and got the win for their new clubs, so of course the Rays acquisition, Civale, looks like a pile today and barely lasts 4 innings...

Annnnndddd McClanahan blew out his arm too. We've systematically blown out the arm of like 9 guys now and all in about the last 2 seasons. Fire someone because this is embarrassing. These players deserve better. We break everyone we get our hands on. Fire someone because this is bullshit

I don't think it was confirmed that McClanahan needs TJ surgery or the other procedure that Rasmussen had, but yeah, it does seem pretty unusual that the Rays organization has seen this many lost seasons due to arm injuries with pitchers. They probabaly needed to grab another guy at the deadline regardless because of this very situation. It's hard to see them winning the title now with the pitching they have left, but if Eflin, Glasnow and Civale are A level the rest of tbe way, maybe. Littell has also looked solid as a #4 lately. What could've been though with Mac, Eflin, Springs and Glasnow as the 1-4, with Rasmussen and Littell as depth. Hopefully, Mac doesn't require TJ or the surgery Ras had, as both of them are out until middle of next season at best, so Mac would miss all(or most) of next year if that's the case

I am so pissed. It's freaking amateur hour with them every year. Guys drop left and right and all they can do is worry about teaching a change up to the next poor bastard to blow his arm out

Another terrible loss for the Rays because they didn't address pitching depth(or lack thereof) nearly enough at the deadline. Civale isn't enough when one additional injury cripples your rotation to having to do this clown show of an opener game at least once every 5 games or rely on a rookie who isn't ready. Maybe a team with a stronger rotation and only occasional pitching injury would've done so, but with the Rays mash unit, it was very shortsighted to think there would've been no additional injuries at the position. With Baltimore in a tough series right now, this was a great chance for the Rays to pull even or at least close to within a game; instead, they'll be fortunate to once again scrape out a series win against a bad team and may pick up a game. And of course, Lorenzen, whom the Rays should've grabbed(well, one of him, Flaherty or Montgomery) throws a no hitter tonight.

I've been holding firm and faithful since 2006 and I've about completely given up on hope on winning a World Series. Is Stu Sternberg a bad owner? No. Not at all. But this is what the Rays are. At this point I need to just watch them because I'm a fan and let go of any serious ideas. If anything good ever happens, enjoy it like it is the very last time you'll ever have it. And when it's bad, laugh. I did it with the Bucs sometime around Schiano and it saved me years of disappointment until Brady and Arians mercifully put an end to the suffering. After 17 years I don't know if I can keep this up anymore. They're too cheap and too set in their ways to be anything better than what we've gotten.

At least seeing the World Series twice was awesome as hell. I think we'll get there again but winning it is a totally different story

Sounds like Stu IS a bad owner. Idk how you can reach any other conclusion

His biggest problem is he's nowhere close to being an actual billionaire like everyone else. That doesn't necessarily make him bad but why the Rays are on such a budget all the time. And plus not everyone is Jeff Vinik.

Remember everybody, the Rays did jackshit nothing to improve the bullpen because it was "fine". 6 runs allowed tonight in 4 innings, including 3 in the top of the 9th on 3 f***ing walks, a hit by pitch and 3 gd wild pitches; yep, it's fine right....

At least Franco bailed them out for the W, but anyone that thinks this team is a contender with this pitching is kidding themselves.

I cant remember the last time I saw three WP’s near the end of the game and each resulted in a run. Fairbanks was hot garbage but up stepped Wander the wonder. I’ll wager Ferg’s was pretty busy after that drama.

This team is incredible. And the staff has completely melted our pitching corps. This freaking hurts boys. I really think this might've been our year and we shot ourselves in the foot

I remember he was being sued by our minority owners but I never went back to see how that concluded. Something about being deceived about the Montreal move and that Stu has been working on it for years and misled them.

I think he's basically the same as the Glazers for the Bucs. The team is making money so they're content regardless of what happens, and he (and they) know how to make profitable decisions, but not competitive decisions.

Another stellar effort from Rays pitching today. They've now given up 22 runs in 3 games to Cleveland...While they'll win the series 2-1, and all the talk will be about how they've won 4 out ofvthe last 5 series or whatever, the pathetic pitching, Jekyll/Hyde offense.as of late and only getting a 3-3 result at home against two bad teams is the real story. 14-21 now since July 1 as well is laughable.

f*** me. If Wander did some shit you might as well burn the whole team down and rebuild. Not even joking. This shot at a World Series doesn't work without him
apparently the chick was trying to get 200k and a Mercedes out of him before she posted all this stuff.
