that matchup just feels like they're playing with fire. They've been solid so far but i just get a vibe its not going to go well. Prove me wrong, fellas!

If they want to use Kastelic to crash and bang against Boston's older core it may work out.

Just seems odd to go that route at this stage.

Not really an accurate representation of what was said. Pretty sure he said in a defensive zone face off he can put out Kastelic. Specifically said they won’t be hard matching lines.
That's pretty much what I got from the tweet, not going to hard match was right there, and the implication of Kastelic being out against Bergeron 'sometimes' pretty much implies for Dzone starts.

What's not clear is whether he just means having Kastelic there for the draw, and then hops off if they go on a rush, or having the whole fourth line out in those situations

Noticed that the Leafs 1st line was playing against our 4th line most of the time on Saturday.

Thought it was just Keefe out-coaching DJ but maybe it was intentional on our part.

I'm still unclear on what happened, the replay I saw just barely caught a collision away from the play, and I have zero clue what led up to it. Do he throw a check for no reason? Seems like there has to be more to it than that, even the biggest hot head isn't going to do that. Was he looking the other way and accidentally collide with the guy? Were they both jockeying for position and the Leafs player got outmuscled?

Kelly needs to be more aware of the time of the game and not give any potential reason for a penalty when there isn't enough time remaining to recover, so even if it was something you'd be ok with in the first period it's a problem there, but it feels like if the coach isn't pulling him out for that there must be more context that didn't show up in the broadcast.

Maybe I didn't catch the whole thing but it kind of seemed like he just threw a check for no reason yeah.

Willing to be wrong on this.

DJ coaches like he wishes he was coached as a player. That's why plugs get unlimited chances. It's what he wishes he got as a player.
Let's hope he plays our best offensive guys on the PP
Cat and Giroux have less TOI in the 2 1st games then what they are used to

Haven’t been this excited for a game in a long time. Our players have been talking about filling the arena for a long time, I’m sure they’re pumped.

The only matching I would do is getting the Kastelic line far away from the Bergeron line

It looked that way on the replay, but like I said, it seems out of character for even the biggest dummies...

Idk, maybe there was some yapping between them as the went up ice and he snapped, or got baited into it and the other guy went down easy or something, but something about it just seemed odd.

Kelly is a guy that needs to play right up to that line to be effective so I get that he'll cross it from time to but he needs to pick his spots better if that's what happened here

Bruins have been swapping Hall and Zacha with

XXX Bergeron DeBrusk
XXX Krejci Pastrnak

I would argue that the Krejci line is the more dangerous line, TBH.

Do you guys not listen to the broadcast? It was clearly mentioned several times that DJ was making sure Kastelic and Chabot were out against Matthews all game.

They did well, and if that 4th line can be our ‘shut down’ line eventually (Crookshank inserted) that would be huge for our top three lines.
