I cannot fathom a simpler way to show shot locations w/ shot type. But, I wrote the disclaimer for a reason lol.

I get it but I have to remember what each type and result was when looking at each box, there are 20 possible combinations. I guess I can't think of a different way either.

Edit: I'm also kind of lazy with these. When I see 20 things going on in a chart I tend to just give up. I'm a data person, but this is also a hockey message board, haha. I don't sit there figuring out the 20 different combinations of types and results.

No worries, this one might be a bit easier:

Make the graphic interactive. Readers eye would be able to maintain memory of layers as you add and remove. Plus you could do so much more analysis with it then. Without that and as it is, it's a a muddled mess.

Is auf the one putting these together? Damn, now I feel like an asshole, haha. I wouldn't have been so harsh with these charts.

He had more chances than Buchnevich has all season other than the second Islanders game. He looked like Zibanejad without the finishing, the point is the finishing will come easier in that type of situation than with him being invisible.
that's my point.. all the chances and no finishing = Buchnevich.

When he finishes, he will look like 'Zibanejad'

we've been a much better team than the results show. some snakebitten guys, some bad luck, some bad goaltending, some learning how to win to figure out. we're improving noticeably. laf is seeing the game slow down...he's picking up pucks with purpose and going up ice at people, he's creating 1-2 chances per game and looking more confident and using his skill/vision. kakko is getting more and more effective - he's playing more confident too. i do think some of the lack of goalscoring is we're easy to defend in the zone. for one, far too many guys pull up on entry and try to make some cross ice pass...you can't do that every time. no one just attacks. we get pucks down low and stand still looking for a pass. its not complicated. we throw it to the point where we hold it until the only option is throw it down the wall. i'm not one to yell shoot every 5 seconds, its about just getting pucks around the net. way too many cross ice passes or dangerous passes back through the middle that can go the other way. interestingly the one shot no on ever passes up is ripping it from the goal line... thats fine but like we can do that from other spots sometimes too the one line keeping it simple has been fairly productive...lemieux/rooney/gauthier
