This is hardly the time or place for it, but I just wants get this out there. **** Sather for paying a 2nd and 3rd rounder for 10 games of Ryane Clowe.

the boston bruins dont have the best first or 2nd line in the nhl.

what they do have are 3 lines that are really really good, and they can roll them.

you KNOW that's what I was hinting towards...no need to be snarky just for snarky sake.

They have good balance. But you said you want to have the best 3rd line in the NHL. You already have arguably the best goalie in the NHL (I'd say it wasn't arguable if he was more consistent in the playoffs). How many "league's best" players or lines do you want to have? Our problem is not talent. Our problem is that our best players are playoff no shows. I'm not even counting Lundqvist. He doesn't show up nearly consistently enough, but at least he shows up once in a while.

We have a guy that was one of the top players according to "advanced stats"in 2 way play this year. I'm not a huge proponent of advanced stats, but his name kept coming up in these stats. There has to be SOMETHING there. He was almost a PPG player and after a slow start was an above PPG player for the last 37 games. He was also very consistent. In those 37 games he went scoreless for 2 consecutive game twice. In 10 games in the playoffs he did it 3 times already, in fact once was 3 games in a row. He also has a game that should translate well to the playoffs. Plays a forechecking game, plays well defensively, has good smarts, and good (albeit not great) skill.

We have one of the more talented players in the league in Nash, who had an almost point per game season for us. Almost prorated to 40 and 40. That's borderline elite. You'd think, while not being the most physical guy his size and skill would translate to the playoffs. NOTHING.

You have a guy in Callahan that is not as nearly as smart as Stepan offensively and not nearly as skilled as Nash, but has still managed nearly 30 goals prorated for 3 straight years (and other than this season, it's not like we were prorating a small sample there, and even this year is not a tiny sample). He plays a gritty defensive game. No offensive production.

Eh.

Value wise it's fair. I don't think it makes much sense for either side, though. They should be content with the players they have.

Would love to get Eberle for DZ, but Eberle's salary...yikes.

Value is not fair in my opinion. Hall is a franchise player and elite forward. McDonagh is not a franchise player.

I can't do math.... who dis guy?

I liked the move, but not the dirty hits that took RC out

If he signs back for cheap for 2-3 years (under 3.75 million) I'll applaud the move in the end. If he walks because he wants more money or he comes back a shell after his concussions, it's another blunder.

The team we watched tonight BLOWS

Little to no passion.... little to no sustained urgency... Little to no sustained execution of anything resembling a game plan.

They look slow, soft and more like they are playing in October then in May. Timing is off, no one wants to get into the dirty spots, get an ugly goal.

Jesus how many times did Steps just miss the net? Guy has lived hockey his whole life and its the playoffs at Mother****ing Madison Square Garden and he can't put the puck on net?

Hate to say it but Pierre was right, they look like they just started playing hockey last week.

I am just a frustrated fan that loves this team, but that's what I see. I can't explain it? I wish someone would explain it to me?

I know it's just a game, but I want to break stuff

I already broke a ton o' stuff tonight. Don't worry about it.

I don't even know what to say. We didn't play well at all, Hank was great., but do we really have to lose on such a fluky goal? And why exactly did the Boyle line have to start every period? Once again back to scoring and a big reason why is every player on the Boyle line played basically 15+ including Boyle who got 20. Can't play non-offensive guys that much and this time 20 mins for Boyle is inexcusable particularly with no PK.

Though Nash looked pretty good - had some chances.
What happened to Stralman? Was at the game and just noticed he didn't come back in the third but not sure why.

The shooting wide is ridiculous still. Stepan gets that break in after that awful drop pass by, I can't remember who, and cant hit the net?

Collapsing defense, lack of defenders joining the rush, overplaying of fringe players, horrific powerplay, and inability to hit the net pretty much covers all of our offensive problems. And these should mostly be fixable problems.

Bad breakout because everyone is too deep in their own zone? Don't collapse so much and break outs will be quicker and more fluid.

Allow defenders to join the rush more and we'll have more odd man rushes like the Bruins get vs. us (and Krug seemingly every other minute)

Overplaying of fringe players? Just stop doing this...

Horrific powerplay? Better personnel usage and stress quicker decisions and more one-timers, particularly from the halfboards or ideally a pointman at the center of the ice sort of in an umbrella situation.

Inability to hit the net? Try to tell the guys to stop trying to pick corners and just aim more low and at the end so we can get more rebounds and second chances (particularly when the player is coming in from an angle such that a shot wide is going to go all the way around the boards and out of the zone - not as big of a deal when going in straight)

wow just got home from game

bruins are just bigger stronger faster smarter lolol the list goes on

should of been 5-1 but hank came to play

richards was the worst player on the ice tonight. completely lost on the pp (why torts)

How will you know if he is a shell of his former self, or what NYR thought they signed and what we may have got a few glimpses of, after the signing? Until he gets more games, how would anybody know. Sounds like finger-crossing to me, and I am just not willing to go with that.

He got crushed against the boards by Milan Lucic's entire body. I hope he isn't seriously injured because he got smashed like a pancake.

We didn't bring it tonight. For the most part, Boston dictated the play and it showed for them in the scoreboard. Yes, close game that could've went either way, but Boston looked like a team that wanted it more. They found a way to get the W.

It's disappointing to see Torts (yet again) not be able to make necessary adjustments and just expect things to work out for the team. You would think being down 2-0 and playing at home would elicit some desperation, but it didn't seem that way at all.

Having said those things, Boston is a very good team. Their depth has been far and away better for them.

Powe can be replaced by Oscar Lindberg or JT Miller... Eminger can be replaced by McIlrath or an UFA vet who doesnt suck.... Del Zotto i hope they try to trade him at the draft for a first round pick... if not keep him to see if he can rebound.... Jesper Fasth also needs to get a look

You don't. It's why I wasn't a fan of the deal to begin with. It was a huge gamble for a crash and bang player like him on the wrong side of 30.
