Does anyone know where I can find NHL prospects that are playing the World Jrs, I have looked and can not find a thing . . . .
Especially Bruins prospects. . .

We do not have that many playing.
I think one only one prospect on Team USA that got invited to their camp.
I cannot remember the last time the Bruins had a decent showing of players at this tourney...maybe when Marchand and Bergy were playing?
I remember McAvoy playing as well.
It is a testament to how a team drafts / it's fun to watch your prospects play against the best during the holiday's.

Should be expected ... he's playing against men not high schoolers. It's good for him, tougher competition. Give him time to grow into his body and build some muscle and core strength. We won't know what we have as a player for a few years. Project with potential.
This year is a great eye opener for Dean to see what it will take to make it to the next level.
Hopefully he embraces it.
If he gets 10 points this year, I would be elated.
He is a four year project, 3 in College and one in the AHL, then we will know what we have.
I really wanted Cole Beaudoin to fall into our laps, he is having a great year for Barrie.

When I saw Letourneau at development camp I posted that I thought he’d only get 8 or 9 points at BC this year. (Ridicule ensued!) His pace and intensity just didn't look D1 ready.

Really worrying considering this was one of the biggest worries about him ahead of the draft.

Could someone please post 3-4 modern examples of players that scored 10 points in a full NCAA rookie season, then went on to become contributing top six talent in the NHL? Just would like to see where the precedent was set.

It's always good to get that reset where you go from being top dog, to bottom. That is the only way to become great. Of course only some ever get over that shakeup, mentally. Brazeau should write a book on it, truly. He figured out something very rare. Those 2 should train in the offseason actually.

Sure because this will seal his future and we can get rid of this stiff now before anyone notices

I get where you're trying to lead things, but there are other factors in play - notably, that this kid skipped the juniors/NTDP segment of his playing career.

So while not exactly at the 10 point threshold, Kyle Palmieri had 17 points in his one year at Notre Dame. But he played two years with the NTDP prior to that.

Kevin Hayes had 14 points in his freshman year at BC.

Bryan Rust had 19 points, but after two years with the USNTDP.

The anomaly here is skipping any junior level whatsoever -not many recently who did that and got drafted in the first round, especially as a forward. Or hell, find someone who did that and played center for a top NCAA team as a freshman.

Great post. I tell my kids all the time, adversity is a good thing.

Fwiw, I don't think Letourneau lacks the capacity to play fast/intense. He actually improved a lot during that week of camp. I just think he's not used to it. Brick likes to call the NHL a "second effort" league. I think Letourneau needs to learn that. You can't make one move or one play and relax because there's a guy out there who's going to give that second effort, recover and strip you.

Letourneau is in a great place to learn. He's surrounded by other Bruins prospects who have learned it, and some of the best, most creative players on the planet. Hopefully he gets there.

For those who are able, this streaming service is carrying 2 prospect games featuring highly touted young players from both Canada and the US. Preliminary to the Worlds over the holidays.

16 year old (17 in 10 days) Gavin McKenna (draft eligible in 26) is playing for Canada.

Great post, man tough crowd, the kid was literally in high school last year and was thought to be a long term project, 3-4 months considered long term to some?

People are just really down on the bruins right now. Most of us don’t even get to see any of these prospects.

Matt Poitras heck of a game tonight / five straight games with a goal. Dangerous many shifts. Hope he keeps 21 when he comes back

Lysell looking good - speed was there and could have easily had more then one

Viel not a rookie but he was ready to wreck a islanders guys but they wanted no part

Give me Biz & Viel against those traveling Irish scammers - I’d pay $100 to watch it especially if the blokes had been drinking

How’s his strength holding up down there? Seem like he is starting to understand and adapt? Never questioned his smarts and eventually will be a very good NHLer. It’s just developing the man strength he needs since he likes to hold onto the puck slow things down like Krejci. I am quite happy he is in Providence and it should do wonders for him. I really think that’s why Krejci was as good as he was. He learned down in Providence

Viel from clips I have seen has more talent than just lug head. He could be like Kast. Hope they give him more chances with the big club.

Bang on with Poitras and Krejci

Poitras looks so good I’m pretty excited for him and feel same about the longer he’s there the better he can hone his skills

Viel would have been a legend in 70 & 80’s certainly in the WHA. He wears the A as well
