I look forward to the day we have a prospect that is considered a 1st line talent. Not “maybe a first line” talent. Not a top 6 talent. Not a mid 6 talent. Not a great 4th liner. Not a guy with good character.

Been a long time since we drafted a top line talent. Price of success, but that’s in the past.
Gotta likely have a shitty team to draft top 10

I’ll take the success

Speaking of first line talent in college - very impressed with Andre Gasseau

His skating is there - he’s 6’4 and plays tough and skills are showing

Both he and Jellvyk look legit

Lowell with an awesome SOW. BC played really undisciplined in the game, and while it didn't cost them on the scoreboard, It stopped any momentum they had. Still Lowell with a great win for our hometown crowd!

Letourneu is a big boy too

Was a phenomenal game - Lowell defense is really good and older (3 Colgate guys playing 5th year)

BC has 4 likely top 6 NHL F in Hagens, Leonard, Perrault, and Stiga. They are a fun group. Leonard would be a great Bruins. Sad he’s going to Caps

All three Bruins prospects looked good - Letourneau skating is very good he just needs experience

Gasseau looked like he could play for Bruins fourth line this afternoon

Jellvyk is pretty slick and fun guy to watch

bruins might be the best team in the NHL at drafting/developing bottom 6 guys.
i guess that's a good thing, but the jury is out on their ability to draft/develop higher
end skill players.

I’d rather not be winning the best prospects list like Buffalo, Ottawa, and Anaheim

Teams only have room for 6 top six forwards and so many prospects are competing for a couple of these you see guys getting broken

To me they need a winger like a DeBrusk type but someone who can handle Boston

And that's what I've been saying for a few years.
Watched Jellvyk last night he’s got top 6 skills

Very interesting to see where he goes

Greg Brown has done a vey good job since taking over the program. National finals last season.

Causeway Street next year? Or perhaps a tune up in Providence.

Better chance he plays 1 more year at BC than he does for the Bruins. Providence is likely destination. You're talking about a guy who is tied for 269th in the NCAA in scoring as a JR. His scoring is down from last year, likely because of the young players who've passed him on the BC depth chart. But if you can't get playing time over freshmen, you aren't getting playing time in NHL any time soon. He'll have to go to PRO for awhile and see what kind of player he can be as a professional. Nothing about him says top 6 player, and he's not big or especially gritty, so he's a long shot.

Gasseau I think has both the higher upside and the higher floor.

Jellvik was also injured this season and came back early. They moved him to center to start the year and it just doesn't work. Since he has been back on the wing he is producing at last year's pace.

Jellvyk was on a line with Leonard & Gasseau

Hagens centered Perrault & Stiga

Maybe Dr Quincy is correct and he will suck but I was surprised how good he looked

Lowell defense might be older than some NHL teams - gotta check ages but 5 averaged between 117 and 146 games and the 6th is a junior

Keith Jones & early on HFB member Danny Briere ( I always thought I would and should be the first member here to be an NHL GM) were at Lowell game last night - couldn’t figure out but now makes sense.

Hagens is really good but Leonard was everywhere

Has UML ever head a five pack of luminaries like that there at the same time? Jones, you, me, Briere, and SaxonEric. Hard to pick who’d be left off the Mt Rushmore.

Do you worry that Merkulov is going to end up being a AAAA player? When I watch him, even in the AHL, there are moments when he's just too relaxed. I want to see him stop on pucks instead of drifting. Competing harder in battles. I don't watch every game like you so wondering if you see the same things or if I'm just working off a small sample.

I think he's firmly established AAAA but his talent is above that, his goal last night shows you can't dismiss him,I mean 3/4 of Boston's roster would have fired that puck directly into the mass of humanity instead of doing what he did
The dude has his share of warts, like the rest of the guys on the list

Yeah, and there are guys like Sprong who play in the league despite their warts.

I’m shocked. Locmelis is my favourite prospect not named poitras. I put him #2. :p. I’m a moron though.
