This year is a great eye opener for Dean to see what it will take to make it to the next level.Should be expected ... he's playing against men not high schoolers. It's good for him, tougher competition. Give him time to grow into his body and build some muscle and core strength. We won't know what we have as a player for a few years. Project with potential.
When I saw Letourneau at development camp I posted that I thought he’d only get 8 or 9 points at BC this year. (Ridicule ensued!) His pace and intensity just didn't look D1 ready. This year is a great eye opener for Dean to see what it will take to make it to the next level.
Hopefully he embraces it.
If he gets 10 points this year, I would be elated.
He is a four year project, 3 in College and one in the AHL, then we will know what we have.
I really wanted Cole Beaudoin to fall into our laps, he is having a great year for Barrie.

Sure because this will seal his future and we can get rid of this stiff now before anyone noticesCould someone please post 3-4 modern examples of players that scored 10 points in a full NCAA rookie season, then went on to become contributing top six talent in the NHL? Just would like to see where the precedent was set.
I get where you're trying to lead things, but there are other factors in play - notably, that this kid skipped the juniors/NTDP segment of his playing career.Could someone please post 3-4 modern examples of players that scored 10 points in a full NCAA rookie season, then went on to become contributing top six talent in the NHL? Great post. I tell my kids all the time, adversity is a good thing. It's always good to get that reset where you go from being top dog, to bottom. That is the only way to become great. Of course only some ever get over that shakeup, mentally. Brazeau should write a book on it, truly. He figured out something very rare. Those 2 should train in the offseason actually.

Great post, man tough crowd, the kid was literally in high school last year and was thought to be a long term project, 3-4 months considered long term to some?Great post. I tell my kids all the time, adversity is a good thing.
Fwiw, I don't think Letourneau lacks the capacity to play fast/intense. He actually improved a lot during that week of camp. I just think he's not used to it. Brick likes to call the NHL a "second effort" league. I think Letourneau needs to learn that. You can't make one move or one play and relax because there's a guy out there who's going to give that second effort, recover and strip you.
Letourneau is in a great place to learn. He's surrounded by other Bruins prospects who have learned it, and some of the best, most creative players on the planet. Hopefully he gets there.

People are just really down on the bruins right now. Most of us don’t even get to see any of these prospects.Great post, man tough crowd, the kid was literally in high school last year and was thought to be a long term project, 3-4 months considered long term to some?
