Seriously though ....
At what point does management throw up it's hands with Knight and just package him up in a trade ?
It's a nonstop soap opera with him it seems with all parties under performing in getting him into a projected role IMO .
They've obviously got a lot invested in him financially and time wise at the least . Is there any professional rule of thumb when it comes to a case like that or do they just let it sit ?

Seriously, why would they do that? He just had a good showing at camp, is finally 100% healthy, and he's a RH shooting RW.

From what I understand, several teams have expressed an interest, but the B's like him and he's still here, so there you go.

Just asking
Seems like it's just been more of the same for him and management . Hadnt heard anything about him having a good camp .
Believe me I'd like to see him stick and get to the big club as much as anyone .

I am completely and utterly biased, but other people thought he looked good (and fast) in Camp. Just seems like it would be a "sell low" situation for the B's, which is never good regardless of the prospect we are talking about. He's only 22, and is an RFA next year, so it's not like they have to move him.

You can always justify selling low by leaking a story about how he likes to party:naughty:

Chiarelli said he made huge strides-loved the speed, back to where he was when they drafted him; loved his game, just stop running goalies- down from 213 to 197 no hamstring problems, bringing it....Claude also a Knight guy- very impressed. Even Cassidy noticed the change and is apparently happy if that is possible (I'll have to wait on that one)

Emil Johansson at #206 is just... Wow. Congratulations!
He is 4th in ice time on his team (HV71) right now. His play in the defensive zone is really intense and I think he benefits greatly from his teams new system, overload/high pressure in the the d-zone. He also seems incredibly durable, two guys has tried to take his head off but the elbows just seems to bounce of his head. He tends to p*ss off the opposition a lot.

He reads the play well defensively and is always willing to give up his body (covering the puck, shotblocking, keeping position even tough he's being crosschecked/slashed). Quite mobile as well.
On the downside he doesn't show any signs of being a guy for an NHL-calibre powerplay, in six games with a huge amount of icetime he hasn't taken a single shot(!), however, I do feel really safe as soon as he is on the ice. In his fifteen minutes of boxplay time - the team hasn't conceded a single goal. No PP-time yet, understandably.

I think he will fit in perfectly as a mobile, defensive D-man in the NHL. Reminds me of Hjalmarsson. A good number 4# that will be great to have during the play-offs.

That's great to hear. I had been told that his hockey IQ and decision making were lacking, which pushed him down the board, but it sounds like you don't think that's the case.

Please keep us posted, much appreciated.

I have PB's season tickets...Knight will surprise a lot of people who have not seen him play if he gets a shot in Boston. He is one of those guys who, especially later last year, popped whenever I saw him (when Cassidy played him). He always skates hard, gives a solid effort and can throw his weight around. Good shot as well.

I believe a simple chip in against Detroit that Knight did and subsequently beat the defender to and led to over 40 seconds of offensive control and one great scoring chances and another good one went over very big upstairs. Not something some find sexy but it was one of a couple if things he did that have them say he is getting back to his OHL days. Add in down 15 lbs or so from his heaviest Providence days and his speed and balance have led to winning puck battles and stronger on the boards.

I'm not smart enough to come up with this. I have heard two guys very high on him train in Quebec in the off season.

It may change but Cassidy likes the sleeker look

Anton Blidh is off to a great start this season. Added speed and stength over the summer. Often beats defensemen to the outside and drives the net. Quickly becoming one of the most hated players in the league, too. He's finding one guy per game to annoy the **** out of, without taking penalties himself.

As a follow up to this, Johansson just signed a deal with HV71 through 2015-16, his first Pro contract. Apparently, he thought he would be spending the year as a key guy on their J20 team, but is sticking with the big club. Sounds like a good call by PJ to grab this kid with a late pick (if it was his decision)?

Here's the article via Google Translation:

The thread's title should be changed to the Jared Knight's Matryrs. The conversation about Knight, him not getting a fair shot, or the coach hating him, is none stop. Who knows what he will become, all we can go off of is what he's done up to this point and for a player picked 32nd in the NHL Draft 4 years ago, he's been a disappointment.

Arnesson is back in Sweden playing now. First game today. Playing on the 1st pairing on the worst team in the league. Should be good for him.

Great stuff! Keep it coming. Seems that Johansson & Blidh love to agitate a bit. Marchand would be proud of them. :handclap:

No chance. Injury derailed that, although I'm not sure if he would have anyways.

I read he may get into 1 or 2 exhibition games to finish off the preseason... Im sure if he has good games, they will keep him around a bit longer and have some tough decisions

Okay...then why'd you ask the question if you already had an answer in your head:laugh:
