Yes, it was. You will recall that McSorley was suspended for the rest of the season, including playoffs, and was required to petition to Bettman if he wanted to be reinstated into the league. https://www.washingtonpost.com/arch...pension/0e7676a2-891b-4609-9ca1-ec592e5506a3/It was a total McSorley
A 4 second encapsulation of the ineptness that is NHL refereeing.
Trouba has been fined $5k by DoPS, the maximum allowable amount, for the high stick/slash. So at least something has been done.
Beyond that the question here has to be did any of the refs see it when it happened? Reality is they're simply not going to spot everything. If it was missed, well so be it. But if an official saw it, and did nothing, then yeah that's a terrible call.

A fine is not enough. He needs to be suspended. He is a dirty player who knows the league is too chicken shit to hold him accountable.Trouba has been fined $5k by DoPS, the maximum allowable amount, for the high stick/slash. So at least something has been done.

The more I watch it, the angrier I get. He is looking right at him and just flat out clobbers him with the stick. I don't know how anyone can see it otherwise, honestly.I didn't see this on my playback. Wtf was that?!
Unfortunately I'm not surprised. That's a full out baseball swing. Dangerous. Imagine if Marchy did that. The more I watch it, the angrier I get. He is looking right at him and just flat out clobbers him with the stick. I don't know how anyone can see it otherwise, honestly.
And a $5k fine? For real?
Tomorrow at work I'd like to clobber anyone who hasn't completed their open enrollment. Fine me $5. Well worth it.Unfortunately I'm not surprised. That's a full out baseball swing. Dangerous. Imagine if Marchy did that.
The 5k is lunch money and is a trash result for a McSorley type, intent to injure offense. He should have had a in-person hearing and a multi-game suspension. He makes 8M per year, so even a one game suspension would have cost him $97,560.97.Unfortunately I'm not surprised. That's a full out baseball swing. Dangerous. Imagine if Marchy did that.

There goes the ozone layer again....They're still burning yesterday's tape.
its reminds me of the marchand elbow to the face of johansson a little. marchand made it look like he was tangled up. so did trouba. but both in fact were legit and dirty. trouba shouldve gotten a 5 min penalty for that. too bad trent didnt hit the ice like a hab wouldve.Unfortunately I'm not surprised. That's a full out baseball swing. Dangerous. Imagine if Marchy did that.
