They lost to one of the other top few teams in the league. The sky ain’t falling. That was a good game. Disjointed at times through the neutral zone and forgetting they don’t have as much talent this year.

The team I was expecting in the offseason has decided to show these last few games

I'm not sold on the Marchand-Zacha-Pasta line. On paper it's our 3 most talented forwards all put together, but against good teams they're struggling to make an impact. It probably doesn't help that Pasta seems to be less than fully fit, but even so if you're putting that many offensive eggs in one basket they need to be contributing more than they are.

Perhaps it's just a question of time, and I'm not sure what the best alternative would be. At the moment a lot of our 5v5 offense is based around Coyle and whoever he's playing with. Which is great for him, but we need more from elsewhere as well. And as for the blueline, 20 games in and apart from McAvoy still no-one's got more than 5 points or 1 goal. That's a problem.

Shit happens, we're not as resilient or invulnerable as last year, but still a good team. They have some weaknesses and injuries, and are missing the toughness and leadership they were expecting from Lucic due to factors outside of their control.

They have some shitty teams coming up on their schedule. If they still look listless through those games, then I start to panic.

Now they are exposed.

Not today or tomorrow, but they're going to have to deal.

BTW, I don't know how they become a physical team. Whatever Montgomery *says*, the proof is on the ice.

Nor can a single player conjure team toughness.

I never thought I would see Brad Marchand appeal lamely to the refs rather than go after the guy who cross checked Poitras right in front of him.

The Bruins simply aren't a physical team. That has been the case since Sweeney arrived.

The "sample size" is extensive, no?

The Bruins are likely going to have to deal their way out of this.

I agree but can't really mention this around here. Doesn't go so well. Until it's addressed it will be an issue. They have exceeded my expectations this year and have been fun to watch. They will make the playoffs but can't see them going deep as it stands. Especially seeing a Mitchell Gryz pairing. Nope.
Today was 🤮 but again didn't expect what I am seeing. Get some grit and a #1 centre somehow and they can go deep but not with what they have.

I must have watched a different game.
That was far from a good game. Decent first period.

I think you can mention this around here.

If many want "speed and skill," others want speed, skill and physical intimidation.

Believe it or not, you can have all three.

It isn't Sophie's Choice.

This afternoon made yesterday look like a clinic in comparison.

Ullmark wasn’t great, but they absolutely hung him out to dry.

Close call when McAvoy and Poitras collided. It looked bad, but they dodged a bullet.

Yet he was a +2 according to Jack.

I don't know about the Bruins being frauds, but there are definitely frauds in this board.
Who cares about plus minus unless it's astronomical. It's a bullshit stat.I mean u can just step on ice other team score ..Frauds is a loose term :teach:

Not sold? They were the worst line on either team today. And they haven't been any good for about 4 games now.

Can't see them staying together for the next game.

More rookie mistakes today.

McAvoy and Pasta both -3. May possibly be the first time in his career that Charlie is a minus player (-1) in the regular season. He may miss Bergeron more than Marchand does.

Geekie and Coyle had good games. As did Carlo and Lindholm on the back end. That's about it.

I had no idea this game was on, sounds like it was a good one to miss. Fun fact: if you want revenge against Detroit or NY, don’t hold your breath. We play each of them before the year’s end on the 2nd night of B2Bs.
