I thought I'd be reading Carlo blew out his knee. Broken fibula was not what I expected but I think takes less time to heal?

That's terrible news regarding Carlo. I hope that he recovers quickly and fully. He will be missed.

Surely Boston has the most player games lost owing to injuries this season?

Probably depends on how you measure it - man-games lost, ATOI lost, or CHIP (cap hit of injured players) lost. Off the top of my head, I remember Anaheim being worse in some metric (forget which one) when we met them on our California trip this year. I also happen to remember that their injuries to players named "Ryan" alone for that game were staggering.

I have a feeling we're probably solidly in second place for the most injured player awards, but I'm not great at tracking the other 30 teams. I also think we have to give major kudos to Bruce for having depth at the beginning of the year, and getting even more depth at the trade deadline.

Some of those kudos should go to Sweeney as well.

Oops, I mistyped. I actually meant to praise Sweeney for keeping the shelves stocked during our injuries. Of course, Cassidy's also done a great job too when it comes to using what's in stock; it's been refreshing to see how flexible he is with changing the lines when we have injuries. Of course, it doesn't hurt that we also have flexibility in the standings...

At the beginning of every season, there's usually more than a few posts about how we have too many dmen and that a trade needs to happen and I just laugh to myself.

Losing Carlo sucks, but the silver lining is that we are deep at his position and McQuaid/Miller are warriors that can complete their respective pairings.

Game tonight is gonna be super tough.

Who is filling in for Wingels.

It’s irritating when a slash that causes injury gets missed while the ticky tack ones don’t.

Colby Cave was called up from Providence.

Acciari slides up to 3rd line RW and Cave centers the 4th line with Schaller and Gionta

Sweeney should win Manager of the year award.
