Bruins goal song needs an update

I was reading the Leafs complaint on the main board about their song and it reminded me that we really need a new one. I really never loved the current one but new crew new song. Honestly I loved Chelsea Dagger going to hawks bars with my friend. It had a type of swagger and the bars here in NYC would blast it.

Just give me a goal horn and a good old organ and I’m good. The rest is too much noise, think I’m getting old
I find the noise level is off the charts in the rink with all the dumb music blasting at every opportunity.

Not to mention the enjoying voice of the girl doing promo's

I am old so I get to complain about these minor things lololol

I find it genuinely odd that they've held on to that song for what...20 years now?

It's not some old fashioned tune that is inherently linked to the Bruins. It's a song that multiple teams used that went out of style with every team...except for the Bruins for some reason.

I wouldn't say it "bothers" me, but I really don't get it. Would something different not be purely logical at this point? Are we still going to be using that song in 2050?

I don't mind the song at all, but I wouldn't mind a change either. As long as there is a goal horn I'm good.

Leafs should have stayed with Hall and Oates.

It had charm.

Zombie Nation was overused in sports when it debuted for the Bruins, but it has become ingrained in their identity.

honestly I like it now. It's been around long enough and through playoff success that it's almost become a troll for opposing fans like Chelsea Dagger.

Plus it puts Leafs/Canucks/Habs fans into PTSD spins so +1 there

I’m ok with this. We probably have to play something from the 70s to make everyone happy anyways. Adults don’t like new music. It’s a scientific fact

I still like it, not everything needs to be updated/changed if it works. The Leafs though do need to change there's, I'm sure they will find a good one eventually.

That's because today's music is terrible, everyone knows that.

New rule: if you want to say the Bruins need to change their goal song you need to suggest a new one. So we know where you’re coming from. Would be interesting to see the choices.
Don’t tell me what to do :naughty:

Fun fact:

The first sign of getting old is hating all the new music.

Why though? It’s not like I’m saying the current song is a travesty. Just that I’d be very much open to new possibilities.

Way too general of a statement on “today’s music”.

Hit/top 40 music? Yes, I can understand that sentiment.

But regardless of what type of music you like, I guarantee I can find you current music that fits your tastes. You just can’t rely on FM radio to provide it as most of that is aimed at a fairly specific demographic.

Not true, I have spoke about this to our daughter, her husband, their friends ( 30 years old) and some relatives, all people in their thirties and although they like some of the current music they pretty well all agree that most of it is crap, it has no soul, computer generated stuff. At least all of the great music from the 60's, 70's etc was generally written by the bands, played by the bands with actual instruments..

Those 30 year olds were lucky enough to grow up in a household where good music was played, they can differentiate between good music and today's music. Please note that I'm not including Hip Hop/Rap in this.

It's funny how music I thought was pretty bad as a teenager in the 1980s sounds so much better to me now when compared to the popular mumbling/autotune/soulless/derivative crap of today. Fortunately there are many more ways to listen to and discover good music now compared to the past, so bad music is easy to avoid.

Oh yeah.

South Park did an entire episode about this and nailed it!

My nephew is 24 and my niece is 21. Both like the old stuff better than the crap being generated by & for their age bracket. My nephew even bought a record player!
