I just want to defend my team here.

Going into the game tonight the Flames were a point ahead of the Bruins in the overall standing. I get being upset with your team but how about not belittling an opponent and calling them crumby when that team statistically is better (Don't get me wrong I think in a playoff series you hand our ass to us, but after close to 60 games the Flames have a better record, have scored more goals and allowed pretty much the same amount against).

As I hope you can tell by the other responses here, the post you quoted doesn't speak for the rest of the board. Speaking for myself, I definitely didn't underestimate Calgary going into the game--it's exactly why I was nervous that the Lucic goal didn't go in, because I knew this team is capable of getting back in it. Love the way your team plays and wish the Bruins still played like that; it wasn't so long ago that we were the best third-period team in hockey ourselves, though it sure feels that way.

And I've always had a soft spot for Bob Hartley--I loved the Avs of the late '90s-early '00s and remember him coming up from Hershey as a minor league coach and go on to out-coach Scotty Bowman in the playoffs that year. Changing out Ramo for Hiller that early in the game was a great move, not because Ramo was playing badly, but because it allowed the team to hit the reset button the rest of the way.

Don't take them seriously every fan base has them.:help: Sorry about that. I've always rooted for the Flames when not playing the B's.

Wasn't that tropical ! and for what it's worth, there was signs of life.

I'm calling out 1 guy doesn't mean others were perfect but has anyone seen a "Yeti" sighting ?

Brutal on faceoffs hasn't been helping on PP, where is this guy ? even looks soft at times
'
Yes, I saw him he was slumped over the net as Tuukka was chewing him out after the OT goal. :(

wow....i am absolutely deflated, I left when we were up 3 - 0 after pretty much 1 period to go for a skate and i come back, watch the game only to see we lose in OT again.

Nothing Rask could have done on the Giordano goal/tip, the OT goal was....bad, but the first goal...what the hell was Chara doing? He pretty much gave Jones the entire net front to skate into and basically invited him in, Dougie as well, was already beat for speed but still tried to skate backwards? That kid is making some seriously boneheaded decisions this season, he and Chara screwed the pooch on that one, should never have been allowed to score there.

Its pretty comical after the start we had, I was wary of the Flames they are really strong finishers but when it was 3 - 0 i was pretty confident (hence why i thought id go and take my excitement out on the ice)

Move onto the next one guys, only upwards from here, i don't expect chia to make any moves either. MUST beat Edmonton

First goal was on Hamilton 100%. Chara had his guy covered. Brickley explained it pretty clearly if you were watching.

Of course I want them to do something to improve their chances--it may be foolish, but I still want to see this team in the playoffs, seeding and draft position be damned. Realistically though, it's almost impossible to see what can be done by the trade deadline to significantly improve the prospects of the team for this season (I sure as hell don't want Chris Stewart here as a rental, I know that much). Thanks to past months of non-activity by the FO, we are dealing from a position of greater weakness than ever before. You're correct that we'll have a bit more flexibility by the time of the draft.

Its not foolish to want to see this team in the playoffs. Good for you! :yo:

Ok no problem there.

I think Julien deserves abuse at this point though. The team was strong for the first half of the game and from a fan's perspective I said 15min into the game "do not sit back and let them into the game" That sucks to say every time the team has a lead.

They did exactly that and sat back on their heels after the third goal. At some point coaching is responsible for those things. They give up on creating a rush and do everything they can to stop an offensive attack and get pinned in the zone. That is bad

no way anyone convinces this fan that Julien or any other coach (with exception of Guy Boucher) says "now sit back boys, prevent defense from here out" and with Miller gone from the game, and the D being pressed into extra action, do you actually believe that`s what Julien says to his troops?

Been watching this game far too long, and seen hundreds, if not thousands of teams from Junior to Pro`s who jump out to the big lead early, and the opponent chips away at that lead as human nature kicks in (why? I don`t know) and players naturally can`t get it through their heads to keep the pedal to the metal

Never made it past Junior B myself but even this hack of a player has been involved in more than my share of games where I played for the team who had the big lead and lost it, and the one who fell behind and came back

I`ll fault Julien for many things....this ain`t one of em

Last 90 seconds of the game Julien sends out Campbell in place of Pasta to preserve a point. If that isn't telling his team to sit back nothing is. Julien has always played not to lose rather than try to win.

Too bad he will lose his job once the team comes back home.

As far as I am concerned....this is on CJ. I noticed that right after the Bruins went up by 3...they went into a shell. They started playing very conservatively and shortening their shifts. This is a typical strategy of CJ's and it friggin sucks.

I wish they would just keep their foot on the throat's of the opponent. This crap that he has them doing does not work...especially when it's only half way through the damned game. All it does is give the opposition ALL the damned momentum / scoring opportunities.

I honestly think that CJ is a one trick pony and is too simple to pick up on in game trends. I aint gonna lie....I have been growing more and more ready to move on from him as coach.

You really think Julien is gone after this trip (your name kind of gives your answer away )?

Thought he had some no firing clause or something in his new contract.

We'll see if Charlie Jacobs was serious... although I would prefer tanking the season, and Julien is the right coach if the Bruins plan on losing.

Im rooting for a Habs Bruins first round. Nothing would be better than knocking them off this year. Of course I live for that stuff though, I live around Habs fans who constantly bash Boston and the Bruins which conditions me to be an apologist.

Id you watched any hockey between these two teams you would realize that Bruins cannot beat Montreal and dreaming that it could happen might simply be a nightmare for you. Montreal likely wins 4 straight

that's why they play the game. Many said MTL didn't have a chance against us last year.

Anything can happen in the playoffs.

Look at 2013 -- the Bruins lost all 3 regular season games to Pittsburgh.

Then they go on to sweep them in dominating fashion in the playoffs.

Dare to dream, my friend. Dare to dream.
