Isn't this basically Lonnie's point that some people are refusing to acknowledge?

The point I'm refusing to acknowledge is that people are hypocrites because they don't approve of what Thomas did, simply because other people of the same fanbase approved of him doing hit here and would approve if Tuukka did.

No, but you showed up acting as if the play was really significant for some reason? It wasn't.

I like Kelly, he's a good presence in the room and a good defensive player, but doesn't contribute much offensively, so for $3 mil, he SHOULD be winning faceoffs.

sounds more like she was just needling folks who have been all over 23 lately.

on a side note: so it's significant that the B's have a set play with 4 secs to go which everyone loves, but it's not significant who started the whole thing? which is it people, do we play to the buzzer or don't we?

What is the point in bringing this up?

Based on the second sentence I'd guess it is to show Chris Kelly can do things that are good? If so.......geez that is pretty weak.

If not, then I have no idea why'd you specifically point out a totally meaningless faceoff win.

It was merely a comment but I guess I'm not allowed to make these types of comments like everyone else does

Yawn.

Not only did the year off give me a renewed life for hockey, just being at home and being a parent to my kids and developing a relationship with my children is much greater and stronger now than it was before that year off.
” -- Tim Thomas on sitting out the 2012-13 season

How sweet...

First, I trademarked "yawn," so send me a check.

You didn't answer my question: why bring that faceoff up?

Because the original comment was about how great it was that the Bruins had a set play even though they were up 6-2. That play was set up by Kelly and it led to the whole Thomas incident. It's relevant and I'm allowed to needle the same people who have gone above and beyond to do the same to me.

You didn't comment on the original play.

And your post certainly didn't have any hint of humor. The second sentence pretty much saw to that.

Also, if we are just needling each other, did you know someone had zero points and a zero +/- in a game where the Bruins scored 6 goals?

That's right, everybody's favorite whipping boy.

Tim Thomas winning the Conn Smyth and Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals grants him immunity from an critcisim from Bruin Fans for the rest of his life. He should have a statue next to Bobby Orr out there.

Newsflash, Soderberg ran into Thomas, so Thomas returned the favor. Nothing more, nothing less. And I loved it. I loved Soda running him and fighting for the puck at the end of a blowout, and I loved Thomas turning around and sticking up for himself. That was an old school hockey play, and one that should not be blown up into something bigger than it really was.
You're channeling the combatants;

They kept going to the very end, with Carl Soderberg charging into the crease where an angry Thomas swung his stick, hitting Soderberg in the helmet with 4 seconds left.

"With less than a minute left in the game and they're up by four goals," Thomas said, "I took exception to that."

Soderberg proclaimed his innocence.

"I was just going for the rebound," he said. "We can't stop playing."

Strong hockey play all around.

Someone already said it, but I love The Yeti still going hard to the net. I love Timmy doing what he did. I'd want Tuukka doing the same thing in the same spot.

I hope The Yeti runs through Carey Price on Thursday, and if Price swings at Soderberg's head that it leads to a line brawl.

Highlight videos always make it look like someone(s) sucked.

Someone could very easily put together a video of the Bruins defense saving Thomas's (or Rask's for that matter) bacon.
Easily? Right.

How can you even imply that when a lot of those saves are on 2 on 1's and breakaways. Many are second chances that should have never even occurred. Who was saving his bacon then? All we had left in that video is Thomas. Many of these chances no goalie would be expected to stop. But Thomas did. Like giving Martin St. Louis the top corner and taking it away in a millisecond w/ his shoulder. And, making it look somehow routine.

Dafoomie didn't even include the deluge of screen shots and deflections TT somehow saw and stopped. That still blows my mind a/b TT. I've never seen anyone more proficient at picking up deflections or screenshots than Tim Thomas. It's not just the saves he made, it's also when he made them. Further, it seemed for every good scoring chance the B's had, Thomas had to turn away two or three. And, it's not a whole lot different for Tuukka now. He's not always going to get a 6 pack.

Spoiled then, and still spoiled now.
