You're absolutely right. I just couldn't resist given their more recent spotty inconsistent record. Believe Chris Simon received 30 games or more when he stomped on Ruuttu many moons ago. Two games for this case defies any measure of logic.

I read your post in the nicest way - made me smile. (understand being unable to resist). Everyone being pissed about the action and response actually makes me smile. This one is on par with Simon's.

I kinda want to rant about it but won't... seriously though.
It's a ****ing sport, what the **** are you thinking and how the **** is that only two games?

The situation reminded me of that line that most if not all kids have heard from their mothers at some point. It's all fun and games until someone loses and eye. Game is hard enough on the body when played by the rules let alone having to worry about idiots presenting this level of reckless risk for any player. A comple miss by the IIHF with the handling of this one.

Ouch, Daniel Frank of Italy got Carl Söderberg's arm/elbow in the head just before the Swedes scored to make it 5-1 and had to leave the game.

USA posted a 5-3 win over a very good Latvian team. Found themselves down by 2 goals on two occasions in the game but fought back. Empty netter sealed the deal and they remain in first place of their division.

Did not see very much of the game. Not sure if Bjork was even dressed but he did not see any ice time. McAvoy posted 18 plus minutes and did not record any points.

McAvoy finished with a +2.

I don't know how Bjork's mindset is ... being used so little, or none at all as in this game.

hope he sours on representing team USA at Olympics as I read here he wanted to participate in, drops outta school to be cool and signs with the B`s:popcorn:

USA posts a 6-1 win over the Slovaks in an at times chippy, physical game.

McAvoy left with an apparent wrist injury that may have been from a skate blade. Luckily he did return after repairs. Held pointless in posting a +3 in his 12+ minutes of ice time. Has had just one assist through 6 games and is a +6 for the tournament.

No Bjork again today.

Czechs are leading France 4-2 late in the third and Pasta had a PP goal to open the scoring.

Im not to sure about that. Its hard to prove oneself when your not getting the ice-time.

The one game he did, He didn't look out of place and neither did Greenwell in today's game.

I have a hard time believing he'd make the Bruins out of camp next season, so I'm just thinking Providence vs college. I'd much rather see him in Providence preparing his game for the pros.

Not sure, all depends, I don`t look at his usage in this particular tournament as any indication or sign of what to expect at camp. If he does sign and is sent to Providence, I would have little issues with that, never been a big fan of pushing a kid in before he`s ready

And I'll be pleasantly surprised if he makes the Bruins out of camp. I think most agree that going pro is in his best interest right now.

Hope so simply for selfish reasons:laugh:

I was hoping to see him play a bit in this tourney, appears the coach had other plans:(

Sweden lead Denmark 3-0 after two periods, have outshot them 25-13, but have taken 5 minor penalties to 1. They outscored Italy 8-1, outshot them 45-15, took 2 minor penalties to 2. And before that, they beat Latvia 2-0, outshot them 30-19, but took 8 minor penalties to 3. Either the Swedes are stupid/goons, the refs feel pity for the smaller nations, or the other teams actually dominate Sweden but don't take any shots.

Considering how the only game went where they got more PP's than their opponents, maybe they should be happy (outhsot USA 42-27, lost 4-3).

And another penalty for 16-6 the last three games, including almost 4 total minutes of 5 on 3. Hard to argue against that one. Good practice for PK.

Beautiful play by Denmark there, just couldn't beat Lundqvist.

And another awesome play that resulted. Ehlers is great.

I'd much rather see him in Providence than college as well. That would mean he signed but I think he's ready for the bigs. High IQ and ++ Skater.

He did have a bone crunching hit sending the play the other way for a goal for the US

The heck with time in Providence. Sweeney thinks Bjork is ready fir the varsity right now if he signs.

“He could be a big part of our whole group of guys,†said Sweeney. “I think with the speed and ability he has, he can step into the lineup.â€

That's a quote from KPD in the Globe on Sunday.
