If beating us was their cup, what does this qualify as? winning the presidents trophy?

Winnipeg can f*** off!
Brooks isn't a huge loss but would of been good on the Marlies or for a call up. You wonder how much some teams/gms have the little man syndrome.
the leafs can only send him straight down if they're the only team to put a claim on him. i think there's also a time limit on this, but i'm not sure how many days it is.So unless Winnipeg puts him right on their roster, they can't send him down without waivers...and since we are now once again the ORIGINATING team, we have first refusal on claims if they do, so we could then send him down ASAP without waiving him?
This whole thing is makin' my brain hurt....
I don’t think that much. Every once in a while sure but not as much as people like to think. We wanted Brooks for depth why wouldn’t the Jets or any other team do the same?
Well like people were saying why not claim him when he went on waivers the first time.
I'm sure he would rather be claimed and continue making an NHL salary then clearing waivers and making his AHL salary. To follow up, it appears that the Jets have some short term injury issues that have just cropped up, hence why they didn't claim Brooksie when Vegas made him available. That being said, unless some of those guys are going on LTIR, I can't see them keeping him on the main roster for more than 30 days, which means AB should keep his suitcase packed cause he might be on the move again before too long. Poor bastard. They should put a limit on how many times a guy can be waived in a season, like maybe 3. Seems kind of shitty but I guess that's the price you pay for pursuing your dream.
lol. I wonder why they didn't want him two days ago, but now that he's Leaf property they had to put in a claim
Nah. Fanbase hatred of another team is rarely, if ever, is the reason for a management decision. Unless maybe you're Carolina and Montreal...they could have been thinking to and then decided not to. Maybe they got some new info on some of the injured players and are out longer than they thought.
things can change in 24 hours. You might be right and they’re doing this because they hate the leafs who knows.
Ehlers is already out, and just lost Copp and Perfetti last night.....
Jets just couldn't pass up the idea of claiming a player the Leafs waived.
I don't think anyone actually believes the Jets did this to spite the Leafs.Nah. Fanbase hatred of another team is rarely, if ever, is the reason for a management decision. Unless maybe you're Carolina and Montreal...
