Brooks claimed by Jets

I feel we're going to be fast approaching the Brent Ashton or Mike Sillinger of the waiver wire here if the current rate keeps up! ;)
 
I wonder if the Leafs talked to Vegas and they are doing Toronto a solid, after extending Amadio. Or, if they're just taking the gamble in an effort to gain center depth.

It will be interesting if Vegas reclaims him tomorrow. You don't see that move tried often.

Vegas did not have more use for Brooks, and barely used him in the first place.

He was injured for a bit, went on a long rehab stint in Henderson, and then Eichel came back. They don't have room for him.
 
He will clear. Nothing to see here. We already knew Brooks can't crack the roster this year but they seem to still like him for another try next year.

Don't they owe us one for 3rd party on Lehner? I say Brooks clears and the slate is clean.

Vegas must see something in Brooks then if this is true. They probably saw Marchment and reasoned its better to be safe than sorry with these ex Leafs :laugh:

Didn't Keefe say something about always liked him and wanting to bring him back? Was that just a smoke screen?

I would guess they tried to claim him to be able to send him down if nobody else did(since they waived him earlier this year) but since someone else claimed him behind us we couldn't. We want Liljegren in the lineup so we re-waive him to accomplish that, if he clears great, if not oh well, worth a try.

One of our top prospects had to be sent down to accommodate Brooks who can't even play.

I had this issue until I downloaded the Brave mobile browser. I just use it for here and realgm which are both unusable in their current formats without ad blocking

Pretty much, tonight is fine… Dermott has to get back in at some point as well so for A GAME it’s fine.
 
Why wouldn't they have just let him pass through waivers yesterday then get him for future considerations or some other no cost deal. Seems like a waste of time to do it this way
