1 goal on a goalie since opening night. I’m far from an expert on player evaluation but he still looks pretty bad out there to me. Chasing the play and useless defensively.

Does this adjustment of expectations come with a matching adjustment of compensation?I don't really agree with this. I mean he's always going to be limited as a defensive player, but overall I've been happy with his improved work ethic. He's battling, winning pucks on the wall, and giving his full effort. Don't think there's a single game so far where I felt Boeser was in the conversation for worst Canuck, which is a big improvement.
So take away his 4 goal game, and take away his empty netter, and he still has 1 goal in 4 games? 1 goal per 4 games is a 20 goal pace over a season, and that's after cherry picking away his other 5 goals.1 goal on a goalie since opening night. So just throw out the first game? Of course.1 goal on a goalie since opening night. I’m far from an expert on player evaluation but he still looks pretty bad out there to me. Chasing the play and useless defensively.
Zero goals in games he doesn’t record a point. Going back to his rookie season. So just throw out the first game? Of course.
Hilarious.
I don’t think he’s been close to the worst player on the ice, but I think that flukey first game is doing some heavy lifting in how he’s perceived right now. If Garland hadn’t asked for a trade I’d still be firmly on board with trading Boeser first.I don't really agree with this. i think a good outcome is him getting like 30+ goals and then we can trade him for another player that fills a bigger need OR get the assets we can flip like what we did with Horvat.I still dont consider him as a core player.
Lets not get fooled by a good start here. He is getting prime opportunity to succeed.
He doesnt drive the play enough, nor is he great at finishing to keep.
He needs to be a 40+ goal guy to keep. Kuzmenko basically made him irrelevant.
I think we should take away that 1 goal too.So take away his 4 goal game, and take away his empty netter, and he still has 1 goal in 4 games? 1 goal per 4 games is a 20 goal pace over a season, and that's after cherry picking away his other 5 goals.
I'm not sure exactly what you expect of Boeser but he's not a Matthews/Pastrnak/Draisaitl/Ovechkin level goal scorer. He's not going to be consistently putting up 2-3 goals every 4 games, he's not going to compete for the rocket. If we can get 30g out of him that's a huge success and he's well on track to hit that this season.
I really don't see how anyone could complain about his production so far and he's been noticeably more engaged all over the ice.
"If you just take away all of his goals, he has less goals" 5head take right here1 goal on a goalie since opening night. I’m far from an expert on player evaluation but he still looks pretty bad out there to me. Chasing the play and useless defensively.
still think you would trade Boeser over Garland?I don’t think he’s been close to the worst player on the ice, but I think that flukey first game is doing some heavy lifting in how he’s perceived right now. If Garland hadn’t asked for a trade I’d still be firmly on board with trading Boeser first.
